The Gentle Dragon
“Submit to me, Tesha. I won’t allow anyone else to have you. You are mine.”
She cries piteously, begging him not to claim her. It’s what most dragons do when they know they’ve been defeated.
“Submit, Tesha,” he says softly, and we watch as she struggles a moment longer before blowing her fire on him.
“That’s my girl,” I hear him say before the dragons all lift off as one, this time, without Amne, and fly away, angrily bellowing that another one of their own has been claimed.
He runs his fingers through her fur as the earth pulls away from her.
