Rise Of The Lycans Novels & Stories

I cannot breathe. Her voices crash through my mind. “Four shall be bound to her soul, Their fates entwined, their strength united. Through their bond, the lost shall awaken, And the ancient bloodline shall be reborn. From their union, a king shall rise, A son of both past and future, To reclaim the throne long forsaken, And restore balance to the world. Bound by five, her strength shall awaken, And through their bond, the Lycans shall rise. The time nears. The White Wolf stirs.”

“What?” Juan snarls. Ezekial holds his hand. “Let me finish.” He says. “Lycans are your future. We all know this and yet every time a Lycan is born, it has never made adulthood.” “Never?” Rosalie gasps. Ezekial shakes his head. “Too many are threatened by a Lycan to allow that to happen.” “Our pups will be different.” I state. “Yes, they will.” Ilsa says. “I have seen it. I have seen a new line. A new Royal Line.”

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. The truth was right there, but fear tightened around my throat and swallowed it whole. And Damien… He hadn’t looked away once. His eyes were locked on me, sharp and unreadable. It felt like he could see through me. I was having a panic attack and I couldn't move. I wished I could disappear. After what felt like forever, I gave the smallest nod. It was all I could manage. The priest raised his arms high. “Then, by the ancient laws of the Lycan bloodline, I now pronounce you mates. May the Moon Goddess bless your union.”

She lied, waiting to gauge his reaction. He struggled to remember who it was, and she decided to help him. “He must have been here before Ron, Father. The one directly before him.” A few more seconds passed before he snapped his finger when the memory came back to him. “Oh you're in luck. That was Alex William. The Lycan is your friend?” She hadn't even known he was a Lycan, but she bid her chances with her father's intelligence and responded in the affirmative. “I didn't know he was your friend. That's the most powerful Lycan alive, despite how sad the story of his path to becoming one of our kind is. I guess you know that… you said he's your friend, so I guess you know the story.”

Gripping it by its tail, Lev grunted as swung it into another. My eyes bulged out; is this the strength of a lycan? Unlike cane wolves, Lycan were a hundred times stronger and their senses were more heightened. It was said they were once cane wolves, who sacrificed something of great importance to Nyctaris, the moon goddess of the underworld, for powers. I could only wonder what he had sacrificed. Their screech tore through the air of the forest before lingering as they kept coming, each taking turns to attack. But like an unforgiving beast he was, he took them down, their heads thudding to the floor.

I begin seething with anger, feeling my body shake violently as I try to contain myself. "Who the fuck do you think you are?!" I raise my voice, taking a step closer to him just as Octavius steps forward as well, grabbing hold of me and trying to keep me at bay. But even as he holds onto me, I find my rage continuing to simmer, and as it does... I can't help but wonder if Victor might actually be right... Lycans are impulsive, unable to control their emotions, their anger, and that sometimes leads to scores of people being killed. People were afraid of them and felt justified in their genocide... doesn't mean they were right...

Kiara palmed her face and slowly exhaled a breath, the things she read in that book were still ringing in her mind, taunting her. Lycans had to mellow themselves to fit in; they started with hiding their strengths and abilities but then they began suppressing it all together. If there is one thing that is true, it is that you cannot keep something hidden or suppressed forever, it’ll eventually catch up with you. In the first century after the war, many Lycans, especially children, died from power combustion, so many that the record books overflowed with death.

"That's monstrous." "Some agreed with you. Enough of them that an entire faction broke away, declaring they'd rather survive through their own strength than continue worshipping a power that let its own people starve rather than intervene." He meets my eyes. "That faction became Lycans. Stronger, in some ways our bodies adapted to survive without her blessing, more resilient, more primal. But cut off from anything she offered. No easy shifting, no healing gifts, no fated mate bonds the way wolves experience them." "Except you think that's changing."

“Have they been hiding their true nature from you all this time?” “I... I don’t understand.” “Some are bitten. They change later. Hybrids. Half human. Half beast. But you... you were born this way. You’re a Pureblood. A true Lycan. And your ichor, your blood, carries traits of a lineage I don’t even recognize. That intrigues me. Fascinates me. I thought I’d seen everything. But you… you’re different.” Everything around me started spinning. The forest, the sky, the leaves, all of it whirled. My stomach turned, my feet lost the ground. I felt like I was about to fall. To faint. To vanish inside myself.

"Born of wolves who lay with creatures of the dark. Their children carried both blessings, both curses." Lucian's heart beats faster. He keeps reading. "The First Lycans grew larger than any wolf. Their eyes burned with inner fire. They could shift without the moon's blessing, drawing power from blood itself. They ruled the ancient world until the wolves turned against them, fearing what they'd created." The scroll describes a war. Wolves hunting their own Lycan children. Burning them. Driving them into the frozen north where most died. Only a few bloodlines survived, hidden among normal wolves.
