Dangerous Pleasures

Dangerous Pleasures

Raven sounded a little confused, and still looked embarrassed. Heather put her book on the table and pushed it in front of Raven. There was a small picture on the front, just like most of Raven's Braille books. The picture looked like a little blonde girl wearing a homemade Superman -- Supergirl, I suppose -- costume. The title was Robin's Great Adventures. At the bottom of the picture I could barely make out the words "A story by", then in larger letters "Raven Tipton".

THE LEGEND OF ALVAH

THE LEGEND OF ALVAH

They were oddly familiar. “Where have I heard those same words?” “I’m sure it’s no one in particular. Now, you must go on.” Alvah started walking away from her. “Wait, can’t I at least get some water?” “I’ll send in some apples.” “Apples?” “They’re juicy and won’t have you going to the bathroom every now and then. Now read!” She sighed, finally looking at all the books piled up in front of her. “Right.”

Until she met him

Until she met him

When caught in compromising position with food, Ava will recite proudly,’food will always be there to cheer you up and won’t disappoint you unlike humans’ Alice smiled as she when recalled her petite bubbly self went in search for Matthew to beat him up for using her. Lost in her thought she didn’t know she was at the Main Street until she heard the sound of various cars passing by, since it was a busy town and this street being the main one, it was busy all the time with people of different agendas. It didn’t take long before she got a taxi and headed to Ava’s place at First Street. When she got there Ava wasn’t around and she didn’t have her phone with her to make the call through to her.

The Luna's Law

The Luna's Law

*Poppy* As we ventured onto the familiar road, the first mile leading to my hometown, my heart raced with anticipation. The sun, high in the sky, cast a bright light over the treetops, creating a magical scene that marks the beginning of our journey. With the road stretching ahead like the path to a lion's cave, we advanced, armed with nothing but our courage and determination. In the background, my daughter's sweet voice, wishing me a safe journey, was a constant source of motivation.

The Path Less Traveled

The Path Less Traveled

They knew better. I remember one day when Venus came home from school and she walked straight past Zeus without even looking at him. This was a few months before we left for training. Venus had just turned twelve at the time. After bribing her with chocolate chip cookies and chocolate milk he got her to tell him what was wrong. Apparently a group of boys at school were always picking on her about not having any friends. Normally she handled it well. Able to give it right back to them. Venus had always chosen to keep to herself. We knew she thought friends were a waste of time. She was constantly studying, or reading, or just listening to music. She said friends would come later, but for rig

she muttered. Looking in the mirror one last time, she took a deep breath. Grabbing her clutch, she quickly sent her father a text. ELENA: Heading out with Ava. Don’t wait up. Love you. The driver was already waiting. She slid into the backseat. The drive to the address Avonlea had texted her earlier was filled with a low thrum of anticipation. When they pulled up to the location Avonlea had given her, Elena frowned. The street was quiet. She imagined a brightly lit, whimsical place, maybe with a quirky sign. But there was no sign of music, no glowing lights, no bustling crowd like Avonlea had described.

Letters from the future

Letters from the future

Just one word at the bottom, pressed harder into the paper than the rest, as though the pen had nearly torn through. You. Ava’s heart gave a hard, uncomfortable thud. She read it again, slower this time, but the words didn’t change. The threat hung there on the page, bold and certain, like a verdict. Do not take the shortcut home. Her shortcut. Everyone at school knew Ava used the cracked, narrow path behind the gas station to shave ten minutes off her walk home. Everyone teased her for it, too—it stank of motor oil and rotting garbage in the summer, and stray cats always hissed from the shadows—but she took it anyway. Every single day. She hated wasting time, and those ten minutes mattered.

Leesa's Advent

Leesa's Advent

Not bad for New England at the end of December. The light layer of snow from Christmas Eve had long since melted. Dral and Bain crossed the small lawn and fell silently into step behind Leesa and Rave as soon as they started toward the side walk. Leesa had no particular destination in mind. She simply led them out to the main road and turned east, toward Middletown. She didn’t care where they went—it was enough to be walking with Rave and holding his hand. They talked lightly, easily. She told him about Christmas, about her mom’s job at the bakery, about the trip to New Haven for furniture. Rave told her about the caverns in New Hampshire and the temporary shelters his people had erected out

Jacob And Allice

Jacob And Allice

I said "Ok" said Ava . And we started reading the book . "Many years ago , a house was built in the eastern part of a beautiful forest by a small family .The forest was nut-brown. The trees were the towers of the forest. Nuts were scattered on the floor of the forest. The smell of the forest was pulpy. The glory of the forest was revealed in the birthstone-bright light. Almond-brown trees stood serenely, awash with a tender glow. Their bark looked like riffled toast and gems of amber clasped their crusty exterior. The first blush of the morn gave the leafy bower a green-going-to-gold complexion. It was a Sturdy two-story residence designed without the least imagination. A set of sagging woo
