The Road He Didn't Take

The Road He Didn't Take

How was that wrong? Jonathan was clearly the one in the wrong. He should not be enjoying my pursuement while still being involved with another woman. Right at that moment, my eyes lit up as I saw someone familiar among the crowd. I yelled, "Dr. Dunn, please help me!" Dr. Daniel Dunn, who was also stuck in traffic, walked over to me in confusion. He had rescued my father in my previous life. At that moment, he was my knight in shining armor. "You are…"

Bestie's Alpha Brother

Bestie's Alpha Brother

Ava The sun was still low in the sky, barely even cresting the horizon as I wandered along the path. It was still early morning, but I couldn’t sleep; I couldn’t stop thinking about… well, everything. I had decided to go on a walk to get some fresh air and clear my head, without any real destination in mind. Although, it seemed as though my feet had decided to carry me to a familiar place after all: Leonard’s farm.

Center Land (Book 3 of Kendra's Journey)

Center Land (Book 3 of Kendra's Journey)

Alice snarled in disgust. “Have you tried to smooth it out?” Kendra asked with gentle sincerity. “It’s damaged from exposure during the war,” Alice sighed. “I was just an infant and, then, the people who took me in barely cared for my basic needs, let alone try to help me keep my looks. I lived the life of a wanderer. It was a hard life out in the elements with survival always at a precarious level. It wasn’t until I met Arthur and he took me to HOPEVILLE that I knew any type of stability and comfort.”

Dancing With Fate

Dancing With Fate

” She pops of her shoes, pushes the seat as far back as she can, crumples my jacket into a little pillow and lay down next to me in the passenger seat, holding our two little baby bugs in her hands and closes her eyes. I flick the key in the ignition and bring the car to a thundering start. I lay a soft kiss on Ava’s sweet lips and slam my foot down only the pedal. In a fraction less than two seconds the car reaches sixty and we are off onto the open road. With one glimpse in the rear view mirror, I can see my old life slowly fading away. In front is the open road and a brand new start for me and my baby and my baby bugs. Just before she drifts off to sleep, Ava looks up to me and I can almo

He Slept With My Sister, When I Was Giving Birth

He Slept With My Sister, When I Was Giving Birth

Evelyn The road home was a straight line out of the university town and into the bare hills. Two hours of highway, then a climb up the switchbacks until the world dropped away and only the scrub pines and stone fences remained. Ava didn’t look out the window, not once. Her eyes were on the back of the driver’s headrest, gaze locked as if it was the only anchor left in the world. I watched her reflection for a sign she was awake and not just dissociating on purpose.

Finally.. We had reached end of the story. I must say it had been an emotional roller coaster for me with the characters in the story, esp with Ava who had made me teared up multiple times with her innocence, resilience and bravery for her age. One of the best books I had read.. Great job Jenne!

The Road I Chose

The Road I Chose

Looking back now, it felt foolish. Wyatt pushed the documents toward me. "I'll send a lawyer's letter first. As for the original concepts in your wedding plan, if Ms. Lewis continues to use them, we can issue another letter at the same time." I paused. "How did you know?" "Her photography exhibition is quite large." He replied evenly. "The theme is called 'Though the Fog'." I opened my phone. Gabriella's social media had just been updated. She stood in front of a fog lamp, with the caption: 'Thank you for always leaving the light for me.'

The Long Road

The Long Road

"Of course, momma, Wyatt, and I talked about it last night, and we're both going with you." "Thank you, darlin, and thank you, Brodie, for cooking breakfast for everyone. It smells delicious." "My pleasure Ms. Cheryl." Brodie grinned at momma and turned back to the stove. "Oh, Man! I smell bacon!" Wyatt walked into the kitchen, rubbing his belly, "that's what I'm talking bout! You the man Brode!" Jenny trailed in behind him, giggling, and Wyatt threw his arms around me and introduced us. "My baby sister Nova Jane, Nova, this is the lovely Jenny." I noticed he didn't say girlfriend; some things never change. She was a beautiful petite brunette with olive skin and green eyes.

So many guards lined up along both sides of the road as the students walked to where the dean had directed them to after lunch. Ava could sense the unease. She had walked down this road once, the day she had tried to walk away from Zeke after she had been discharged from the Infirmary. It was one of the few roads too close to the forest. She could already feel that darkness from it looming over her. Her palms felt sweaty, and she couldn’t stop her heart pounding hard against her chest. The students walking in front of them kept turning back, so she was sure they could hear it. The bag on her back felt even heavier than in the morning when Derek had handed it to her.

The King, The Prince, and the Last Faerie

The King, The Prince, and the Last Faerie

Chapter 34- Royal The road was uneven and pitted, causing us to ricochet around the little black car as we flew down the long dirt road through the thick and deepening woods. We had one mile to go before we crested the border of Ben Avon’s territory, and we all held our breaths as the reality of escape sat just barely from our fingertips. I was gripping the leather seat of the car so tightly that my knuckles were beginning to turn white, and I didn’t know if it was because of Simons reckless driving, or the fear that I would be dragged back into that castle kicking and screaming all the way to the cave of the children. A shiver ran up my spine as my thoughts began to fill with milky eyes, an

ONE NIGHT STAND WITH MR.BILLIONAIRE

ONE NIGHT STAND WITH MR.BILLIONAIRE

Not a downpour — just that steady, cleansing kind of rain that makes the world smell like beginnings. River typed the first sentence. I typed the second. It wasn’t about Rachel. Or Ava. Or even the past. It was a love story. But not just about us. It was about finding home after being lost. About rebuilding after the wreckage. About choosing each other in the quiet moments. At one point, River paused and turned to me. “Do you think people will read it?” I smiled. “I think the right people already are.” Ava – POV I closed the bookshop early one afternoon and drove out to the retreat. It had taken me months to find the courage. But Rachel’s name was still on the mailbox, still carved into the
