He’s evidently two-steps ahead of me and using Roger as a bait doesn’t seem to be the smartest option right now. On one hand, I was thinking that I may have to stop using Roger as a bait since it didn’t work the very first time. However, I have already spilled a lot of information to him. I put what I am doing to the side and gestured for him to take a seat. "Owen, I need to talk to you about something. I do not want you to take offense, but it's about rogues." I nod. Rogues often give packs trouble; somehow, I am an exception. Probably because I attempt to communicate with the wolf packs and live on neutral territory, it probably also helps that they come to my club. "I am not sure what help I can be," I don't associate with many wolves, other than those who work or are members of the club.

Jessica was smiling to herself as her wolf loped through the forest on the outskirts of Springfield. She was finally out from under her parents’ thumbs and could be herself. She’d taken them down so expertly that I wondered how she got into the situation in the first place, how they’d managed to ambush her. I thought about stories I’d heard about rogues. There were known to wreak havoc among packs. If she was a typical rogue then I could see how that would be. No wonder pack leaders usually hated them. So much so that if an alpha or luna crossed paths with one, their first instinct would be to kill. I thought about what this meant for my mate, and how my mother would take it. Would my mother try to kill my mate? Of course, I couldn’t let anything happen to her.

Jaxon elaborates, “What can you tell us about the ‘pack’ environment we are heading into?” “It’s not big. There aren’t more than about fifty rogues living there.
