What’s surprising is that Austin went after Rory instead of her cousin, Caroline. I could remember the days where Austin would always chase Caroline, always trying to pursue her and he always ended up getting turned down, but that never caused him to give up. I believed that Austin loved her a bit and I believed that a part of Caroline loved him too and was just too proud to admit it.
