You know, something to keep us riled up and intrigued.” “And who said that romance wouldn't keep us intrigued?” I raised a brow. He rolled his eyes, “The only thing they do in those romance movies are sing, dance, cry and then they sing again.” I couldn't hold in the laugh that finally bursted out of my lips. This was Kai being Kai and I loved it.

“If you’re going to be this distracting, I’ll just watch something else.” “Fine,” he said, chuckling lightly. “But only if you sit closer.” I raised an eyebrow, pretending to consider his offer. Slowly, I shifted closer to him, the warmth of his body radiating against mine. The movie playing on the screen was a romance—one of those heart-tugging stories about two people from different worlds finding their way to each other against all odds. I’d picked it impulsively, not thinking much about it, but now I was hyper aware of the scenes unfolding. The gentle caresses, longing stares, and whispered confessions between the characters mirrored a part of me I hadn’t fully acknowledged.

I could see the excitement all over his face, but mine didn’t betray excitement. “Your fiancée… she’s incredible. A real star,” he said, praising her. “Yes, she’s good,” I said flatly, not wanting to deviate from the reason I had come. “But I have a complaint.” “A complaint?” His expression changed. “You never told me there’d be a scene where she kisses someone else,” I said, staring at him, waiting for a response. The man chuckled. “Ah, Mr. Stanley, it’s a romance film. A kiss sells the movie. Audiences expect it. I mean, what’s a romance movie without a kiss?”

For comfort I also threw a few of mine and his pillows. "I'm not watching rom-coms with you, so decided any with that exception." He sat next to me with laptop on his lap, a list of movies open for me to chose from. I snatched the laptop from him and scrolled through the list, my eyes found the best movie series ever and I decided we will watch nothing but that. "Avengers?" He raised an eyebrow, that stereotypical image of girls falling over cute romance in movies was probably playing in his mind. "Got a problem?" I asked back.

Shoot! "Love is indeed in the air." Maribella remarked before waving my book in front of the camera. "So, if you people haven't read this, if you haven't been in love, or if you just wanted to enjoy a good romance book then buy Rebecca's My high School Love Affair and it will make you fall in love with life." I shyly smiled and nodded my head. "Anyway…" Maribella's gaze went back to us and she was wearing this stare like when a journalist's curiosity was piqued. "Sir Ibarra, you did mention earlier that you are going to be a part of Rebecca's future, yes?"

Roman almost groaned. "Just don't pick any cheesy romantic movie," Roman mumbled under his breath. Athena frowned. "What's wrong with romantic movies?" She asked after wiping her hands with a napkin. "They are boring," Roman replied casually. Athena scoffed after hearing his words. "True." Rylan also agreed. "Then it's finally time to watch a romantic movie." Savannah smirked, giving Athena a high-five. Eleana also gave a thumbs up, showing support for the girls. Roman and Rylan groaned, making the girls giggle, and Ayden chuckled lightly.

She made a suggestion. " I'm sorry, but I'm not a big fan of romantic movies. "They're a bunch of numbskulls." He objected. "Why aren't you a fan of romantic movies? Everyone likes romantic movies." Miranda smirked. "Not everyone enjoys seeing romance films. Despite the fact that I am not a movie buff, I prefer horror films to romance films." He responded. He had his reasons for not watching romantic movies, including his belief that love is dumb and that love is merely a diversion from human existence.
