Some, even on their deathbed, held onto life just to see their most cherished ones one last time. Once they heard the voices of their loved ones, they would let go of their last breath. This was Zane’s current state. That last breath in his heart had not dispersed. The maid quickly helped him into the car. Penny had left her car at the mansion, and the driver initially wanted to change cars, but Zane gestured to stay.

“What the fuck am I even saying. The deal is over now. I was supposed to help you get Ethan to confess his feelings to you and well, he has practically done that so… “Kavrain no…” I cried, pulling him into a hug. “Let’s not do this.” He froze at first, then he gently peeled me off him. “It’s over.” With this, he walked past me and walked past the door, leaving me utterly broken and helpless. Just then my phone beeped with a message I didn't want to take but something willed me to take it and I found out that it was a text from Ronnie's Mom. Ronnie had been at the hospital for the past few days.

“Too quiet.” Parker answers next. “She’s shut down. She does that right before she breaks.” Callen grumbles, “Or before she does something goddess-y.” Ronnie’s tone is calm. “Do not push her. She needs stillness to process what she witnessed.” I cut the link off before they can argue about it. Right now my priority is the woman beside me, the woman who just closed the final chapter of her old life and watched it die on the pavement. Paige finally speaks, barely above a whisper. “I didn’t want him dead.”

“I… failed… you.” Zane shook his head, “No, no, you didn’t. We’ll get them back.” He kissed Anthony gently on the lips. “Humans.” He said and breathed his last.

Tomorrow she will leave with Xavier and I don’t have to think about her anymore. Just one last night. You can do this, Mir. “Boss…Boss!!” Ronnie came panting and huffing at my already opened door and brought me back to reality. He looked terrified. It wasn’t a hard nut to crack to know something was horribly wrong. “What?” I asked imperiously, snapping my brows and taking a few steps towards him. He was sweating buckets and his voice shuddered while speaking. “Boss! Zarina…. ma’am….!” He said, and I lost my temper in a bolt. I swear if something happened to her, I’ll kill this bastard with my own fucking hands.

In Charles's eyes, I was never going to measure up to Arianna. Arianna, despite her guilt, looked at Charles with teary-eyed gratitude. Even now, he stood up for her. Vincent's gaze shifted toward Charles, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly in a mocking smile. "Move aside." Just then, the official reporters Vincent had invited arrived, with cameras poised to capture every moment. Vincent pulled out a document—my death report. "Sabrina Zayn passed away one week ago. The cause of death—" He paused deliberately, his eyes flickering ever so subtly in my direction.

Before this conversation continued, though, Aubrianne wanted to get the Ron situation off her chest. "Oh, by the way, speaking about Ron," Aubrianne watched Jada nervously blinking. She breathed in deeply, then exhaled. "Um..." Crickets... "Ok, spill! What about Ron?" As far as Jada was concerned, the next time she saw Ron, she would kill him for what he did. He was a dead man walking, plain and simple. Aubrianne could have died if she had not been there. Suddenly, fidgeting with the belt of her robe, Aubrianne finally came clean, "I saw Ron last night!"

“Are you sure it is my baby?” “I told you. You killed your child.” I looked at him straight in the eye. “You caused me a lifetime of pain. I hate you, Ron.” “That's impossible.” “Today is the day you die.” I glanced at Red Rock Canyon looming in the darkness. “I look forward to seeing your blood stain this land.” “No. B.itch！” Ron screamed madly. “Who do you think you are?” “Now you can start saying your last words.” I wanted to let him say his last words in silence, but he didn't seem to realize that his life was coming to an end.

Those were Ronan's last words before he pulled Lana away, leaving the crowd slightly disappointed, and me with a gaping mouth aimed at his retreating back. What the hell just happened?

Ron stood there alone, holding the report, staring at it for a long, long time. Then he walked to the fireplace and threw the papers into the flames. As the fire consumed them, he murmured, “Wendy, if you really are dead… then come to me in a dream.” “Tell me I was wrong.” I pressed close to his cheek and whispered, “I won’t tell you that you were wrong. I won’t even appear in your dreams, Ron. Whether you regret it or not, the autopsy was the last time you will ever see me in this lifetime.”
