Romeo informed her. “What?” Rose exclaimed aloud and sat up straight. This abrupt action almost blinded her with immense pain. Romeo held her down and rubbed her back until she stopped writhing in pain. “Calm down! If you are this agitated, you will only ruin your body. You won’t be able to get revenge on Lester.” Romeo consoled her. Rose’s anger spiked on hearing Lester’s name, but the prospect of revenge calmed her, nonetheless. When Rose’s pain subsided after a long time, she looked at Romeo again.

I smiled. Rose had mud covering her clothes, with splashes of water on her top as well. "You should change your clothes, otherwise you will catch a cold." She nodded with a sheepish smile, "I went to collect water from the river but slipped over the rock and fell." I paused but continued stirring again...the river. "Can you add the final petals and stir this? I have some work to do." Rose looked at me in shock and to my surprise, she shook her head in a no immediately, "I can't do that, you shall always complete your work other..."

"Mickey, you're finally here. I was so scared. I had another nightmare. Tell me—tell me I escaped. Tell me I wasn't violated, right?" She clutched at him, desperate for reassurance. Her doe-like eyes shimmered with fear. Mickey wrapped her in his arms and gently stroked her back. "You got away. No one laid a finger on you. Don't be afraid, Rose. I'm here." Rose? Mickey, the woman in your arms—do you really believe she's your beloved Rose? Don't you know Rose is already dead? You killed her. My eyes stung as I watched another woman take my name and identity. And I could do nothing.

* I came out of my memory with a tear rolling down my cheek, I quickly wiped it away. I was sitting in my desk chair because of course I'm at the club. I looked at my phone one more time, looking at my little roses profile. I made a promise to her right then and now, I will protect you this I can promise. Knowing how close she is to my club which has cameras all over it, I watched them very closely to make sure she was not harmed by the man that killed my dad.

I opened my own studio, and my days became full, vibrant, and happy. One night, Jordan stepped out of the shower, a towel slung loosely around his waist. As he turned, I caught sight of a tattoo on the small of his back. I leaned closer. It was a rose in full bloom—beside it, a little girl dancing. My fingertips trembled as I traced it, my eyes stinging. "I had it done when I was seventeen," he said softly. His gaze lowered to mine, eyes shimmering with starlight. "I wanted to keep it a secret until the day you became my bride."

Then my father’s voice sliced through again—only to break me completely. “Brace yourself. You’re getting married to Lucas Rodriguez by noon today.” I staggered backward, nearly collapsing. The room tilted. My hand struck a vase by the shelves, and when it shattered, dull red blood dripped from my palm onto the marble floor. They didn’t care. Not one glance. Lucas Rodriguez. The name alone made my knees buckle. I’d heard it whispered before—in boardrooms, in dark corners of the city, in the trembling breaths of people who knew better than to say it aloud. Enough to make men flinch in back alleys and moguls swallow their pride.

I opened the door just a few inches and saw a small cardboard box sitting on the carpet with no name and no return address, so I pulled it inside and opened the lid while the others crowded around me to see what was inside. Resting on a bed of white tissue paper was a single rose made of delicate glass and the stem was broken in half so it looked dead and jagged, and I knew immediately that it was a message from Elena Romano because that rose was the symbol of the investment firm we had burned down in Berlin.

“Gary, don’t distract my best player. Rosa carried that meeting. We all saw it.” Gary turned, still grinning. “Andres! Jealous much? Come on, join us. Rosa was just telling me how she won Creston over. Sounds like she’s the real closer around here.” Rosa glanced at me, her smile still in place. “I was just saying it was teamwork. You set everything up perfectly, sir. I only filled in the gaps.” “You filled them damn well,” I said, holding her eyes. “The way you brought up his father’s old contracts? That was perfect. Creston lit up. I’ve never seen him that engaged.”

Rose utter by then I turn around then run towards the gate and out of nowhere. I hear them shouting my name but I am too emotional right now to turn or to stop. I see that I am now on the grapes plantation, I fall on the ground when my heels hit a rock. I slowly got up and then I turn just to see Rose running towards me holding her dress up. Without her nerdy glasses, her short brownish hair that is longer straight brunet now, her face with heavy make-up but just enough to show her beauty, seeing her now she isn’t that chubby instead she is smoking hot on her green tube dress. So everything about her as Rose is an entire lie. SO... that is why she keeps on wearing loose clothes and such.
