Rosa's Pov.

I didn't expect Andres to spit on me the same way he did, but with the look in his eyes, he seemed like someone who wasn't in the right state of mind, so I let it go at the last minute.

Now, my plan is to find Morgan.

Andres made it clear that he didn't trust me, and since he's my boss, it'd make it harder for me to obtain my aim with him constantly lurking around, so, pushing that aside, let me try winning over him first.

“Morgan, Morgan, Morgan, how the hell do they expect me to find her?” I asked aloud only to feel someone tap my shoulders from behind.

“Are you looking for me?”

I turned around to see a girl, petite and rather beautiful.

“Morgan?” I asked as she nodded earnestly with a smile.

“Morgan Johnson, at your service,” She said with a small bow that made me chuckle.

She looked young, like a girl in her late teens, and I wanted to ask her how old she was so badly, though I had to stop myself.

“Mr Andres said you would be the one to show me around,” I told her, and she nodded.

“Yes, as a senior agent, that is one of my various jobs. What rank are you on?” She asked me, and I whipped my hair.

“I'm a senior agent too,” I told her, and she stared at me for a while before laughing.

“Nice joke, newbie, now tell me, what rank are you really on?” She asked me, and I shrugged.

“I told you already.”

“You can't be serious, I worked for three years straight before I got promoted to this rank, and it was only made possible because the CEO is a distant relative of mine,” She said, and I blinked.

“Three years? How old are you?”

“19,” She mumbled slowly, and my eyes widened.

“You got employed at the age of 17!?” I literally yelled, minors weren't allowed to work at companies, especially those in school.

Did she even go to school?

“I needed money, okay? Just tell me how you got the position, or is it a lie?” She asked, and I sighed, unlocking my Phone and showing her my employment letter sent to me earlier.

She read through it with surprised eyes, and when she was done, looked up at me.

“Are you that smart? To bag a promotion before you even started work?” She asked, and I winked at her.

“You bet.”

After all, everything is possible with Quinn by your side.

Perks of having a great IT girl.

“Well, let's get on with the touring, Miss…”

“Rosaura,” I said, as she locked arms with me like we were close friends.

“Rosaura,” she said with a smile, and I smiled back at her.

I guess, if I had a younger sister, she would have been like this.

Morgan spent the next hour showing me around the whole company, and I took in every part, every nook and cranny, and every space.

Along with that, she filled me in on her life story, that she had been the first daughter of her late parents, and had younger siblings to take care of.

When her parents died, she had come to beg Mr Beaumont to take them in, but he said that the best he could do was give her a place to stay with her siblings and also a job.

“He is a really good man, even after a scandal about me, he still took care of us,” she had told me, and I began to wonder how such a man could have birthed a monster like Gary.

“He sounds wonderful,” I told her after everything, and she nodded with a smile.

“He is,” She answered me.

We ended the tour sooner than expected, and she took me to the cafeteria, where she told me that I'd meet her friends.

I had expected to see girls, but instead, the table she took me to contained two guys.

“I see you have a chick with you,” one of them, with blonde hair and blue eyes, said, and I sneered at him.

“Classifying me as a chick is just offensive,” I said with a scowl, and he raised his arms jokingly in support.

“I'm sorry, ma'am.”

“And she seems feisty also.” The other one, with dark hair and green contact lenses, said, and it made me remember Andres.

I scowled at him also.

“Be nice, she's a senior agent after all,” Morgan said, and both of their eyes widened.

“What?” they gasped in unison, bowing their heads immediately.

“We are sorry, ma. We…we didn't know,” They mumbled, and I smiled.

All this power?

“You are forgiven,” I said, feeling like a demi-goddess as I took a seat on a chair.

“Why in hell's name would you bring a senior agent to our table?” The one with contact lenses snapped slowly, and Morgan rolled his eyes.

“Don't blame me, Denzel. She's a newbie, and Sir Andres placed me in charge of her,” She told them proudly, and they blinked.

“How on earth`s name did she become a senior agent so fast, Morgan!?” The blue-eyed one asked, and she rolled her eyes.

“How do you expect me to know that, Brian?” She asked him with a snap, and he sneered at her.

“Once again, we are sorry for the way we acted, Miss….” Denzel paused, and I immediately got tired of introducing myself under a false name hundreds of times.

“Rosaura Morales,” I said, and Brian's eyes widened.

“The famous art realtor influencer?” He asked, and I winked.

“You bet!”

Finally, someone recognized me.

“Now I understand why you got such a position quickly,” Denzel said with an understanding nod, and I smiled.

“Wait, so you are some hotshot estate agent?” Morgan asked, obviously not getting it, and I shrugged.

“You can say that,” I answered, and she squealed, which drew attention to our table.

“Shhssh, stop being a drama queen,” Brian said with an eyeroll, but she ignored him, staring at me with childlike eyes.

“So I finally get to meet a celebrity?” She asked, and I chuckled.

“I am not a celebrity,” I told her, especially not under a false name.

“But you're like a celebrity, right?” She asked, and I wanted to tell her no, but instead nodded.

“Yeah, I am.”

After all, I am indeed popular-ish.

“I met a celebrity!!!” She yelled, and we had to cover our ears. The rest of the workers in the room mumbled but didn't dare say a thing out loud; they must be junior agents like Brian and Denzel.

“Stop shouting, you'd attract unwanted attention,” Brian facepalmed.

“Like?” She asked with folded arms.

“Who the fùck made that excruciating noise?” A voice came, and I immediately recognized it as Andres’ own.

I turned, staring at the man before me, long-sleeved shirt unbuttoned, collars up, and his arms placed sexily in his pockets.

His Adam's apple kept bouncing up and down his neck, and I wondered if I was the only one able to see it.

Why the hell is he here? Morgan squirmed a little, and I could tell immediately that she was Afraid.

The urge to defend her like an elder sister suddenly overcame me, but before I could say anything, someone walked in.

“It came from me. What would you do, brother?”

I recognized the voice immediately and felt my limbs go numb.

I had told myself for 6 years that when I saw him, I wouldn't dilly dally, I would act strong, I wouldn't be afraid, I wouldn't feel pained, but as his voice resonated in my head, I couldn't help but let the past in as I turned to see him.

Gary Beaumont.

Rosa's POVI woke that morning, feeling very lazy, and it was a Monday morning. I was home alone. Quinn had travelled for three days for an I.T training. “Alright, let’s see what this chip has given us so far,” I said, scrolling through the files on my laptop. “It’s not flooded yet, but it’s steady. Gary is definitely hiding things. Big things for that matter. These transfers don’t make sense. And these late-night meetings? Something’s off.”I leaned back on the couch and sighed. “I should feel moved about this. We’re moving in the right direction. Why do I feel so… restless?”I picked up my phone and called Quinn.“Hey Q,” I said in a toddler tone.“Rosa! Finally. I’ve been waiting. How did the data look this past weekend?” she asked.“Pretty solid, actually. I’ve gone through everything the chip sent. It’s confirming what we suspected. Gary’s hiding a lot. There are encrypted folders he keeps opening, weird offshore movements, and meetings that aren’t on any official calendar. It’s

Andres's POV“Monday morning and I’m already on edge,” I muttered, gripping the steering wheel. “The medicine took forever to settle this weekend. It kept me staring at the ceiling for hours. And Billy’s words keep replaying… ‘Talk to her. You deserve something good.’ Talk to her? How? I’ve been turning that over for two days straight, and I’m still stuck.”I parked the car and headed inside the building. “Just breathe. Get through the day. One step at a time.”Jefferson was waiting near my office. “Morning, boss. You good? You look like the weekend kicked your ass.”“Morning, Jeff. Rough weekend, yeah. The medication settled more slowly than usual. What’s the latest on Meridian?” I asked, dropping into my chair.Jefferson sat across from me. “Update looks really clean and strong. Projections are up, client feedback is positive, and the risk section is tighter than last week. We’re in a good spot.”“That’s solid news. Walk me through the numbers again,” I said.“Revenue forecast is lo

Andres's POV“Shit… slow down, just slow down,” I breathed hard, sitting on the edge of the bed, gripping my knees so tight. “Why today? Come on… breathe with me. One… two… three… four. In… hold it… out slowly. I’m trying. I’m really trying here.”My arms kept shaking. I rocked forward a little, jaw locked. “Okay… okay, deeper breaths. One… two… three… four. You’re not falling apart. You’ve done this a hundred times. Just pass already, please. I need to get to work. Nobody can see me like this.”I exhaled shakily, flexing my fingers. “There… yeah, it’s easing up. Good. You’re alright, Andres. You’re fine. Get up. Put your shirt on. Tie straight. Look like the guy who just closed the Creston deal with his team. Nobody knows about your secret. They will never know.”“Morning, Jeff. Come in, close the door,” I said as Jefferson stepped inside.“Morning, boss. You got a minute?” he asked.“Always for you. Sit down. What’s going on?” I replied.Jefferson leaned forward. “Meridian proposal

Rosa's POV“Rosa, there you are. I’ve been looking for you,” Gary said, his voice smooth as he stepped closer to me near the elevator. “Everyone’s gone home already. Perfect timing.”I tilted my head slightly toward him, smiling softly. “Gary. You always seem to appear when things get quiet. What’s on your mind?”He chuckled, standing just close enough that I could smell his cologne. “You. All evening, I couldn’t stop thinking about how everyone was talking about how incredible you were. And at the celebration… that laugh of yours? Dangerous.”“Dangerous?” I asked, letting a light laugh escape as I looked up at him. “I was just celebrating the win with everyone. You seemed to be enjoying yourself, too.”“Oh, I was. But mostly I was enjoying watching you,” he replied, his tone dropping playfully. “You light up a room, Rosa. I meant what I said earlier. You and I should have dinner. Just us, you know ...Good food, better conversation. What do you say?”I pretended to think about it, bit

Andres's POV“Boss, we did it! Creston actually signed!” Jefferson called out, raising his glass high across the room.I stood at the edge with my barely touched drink, letting the warmth of the win settle in. “Yeah, we did. The team worked their asses off. Feels good, doesn’t it?”“Feels amazing!” Sarah from finance laughed. “Open bar tonight? My tab is on the company, right?”“Everything’s on the company tonight,” I replied, smiling slightly. “Drink up. We earned this.”The team was looser than they’d been in months. Laughter bounced off the walls. Someone turned the music up a notch. I let myself enjoy the moment, watching everyone relax for once. Then Gary walked in.“Parties already started without me?” Gary announced with that easy, perfect smile, sliding through the crowd like he owned the place. “Andres, my man! Congratulations on landing Creston. Hell of a win.”“Gary,” I said. “Didn’t know you were coming by.”“Couldn’t miss celebrating with the team. You know me.” Gary wink

Rosa's POV“Miss Morales, you remind me so much of my daughter. Same fire in the eyes, same way of cutting through the nonsense,” Mr. Creston said, shaking my hand firmly.I smiled warmly, squeezing his hand back. “Thank you, sir. That means a lot coming from you. I’m really glad we could find common ground today.”“You’ve got a good head on your shoulders. Not many young people do these days. Keep that up, and you’ll go far,” he replied, nodding with approval.“I’ll do my best. Thank you again for trusting us with this,” I said softly. The moment the door closed behind him, I let the smile drop completely. I started gathering my files and notes when Andres’s voice came from across the table.“Good work.”I looked up and found him already staring at me. For a second, neither of us moved. The air felt thick, heavy with everything we weren’t saying. I held his gaze, my heart beating a little faster.“Thank you, sir,” I said quietly, breaking the moment. I looked back down at my papers.
