Finished with lunch and her pre-school lessons, Rosie liked to wander around the house, or go on trips to the woods if she could talk someone into taking her, but today Emma said she was a little down, and went to her room.
I gently knocked and peaked in.
“Rosie?”
“Hi,” she called back, not looking up from her drawing. “I’m almost finished.”
I stepped in to have a look at her work. It was a beautiful drawing of a wolf. No, not just a wolf. It was Duncan’s.
“It’s beautiful, sweetheart.”
“Do you think Daddy will like it?” she asked, pulling down her pencil, nodding her head to the side to study her finished work.
“I do,” Duncan said, and Rosie turned so fast she nearly fell off the chair.
