Her movements are controlled, like she is thinking through every step instead of letting her body move on its own. “Did you eat?” I ask. She shakes her head. “I’m not hungry.” She goes back upstairs without waiting for anything else. I stay where I am, staring at the space she just left behind. That answer wasn’t about food. “I know I have a chance, but I'm scared because it would be extra difficult to beat her because she would definitely do anything to win.” I placed my hands on her shoulder. “Then you should do everything to win too.” She nodded and smiled back. “Hey guys,” Liana called and we both turned to her. “Do you know where Rowan went?” “What do you mean?” I raised my eyebrows at her. “He should be somewhere here.” She shook her head. “He's not here. I’ve checked everywhere but he's nowhere to be found. I tried to go out to look for him but Warrior Brian won't let me leave.”

Rowan nodded, feeling a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty. A warm smile spread across Richard's face. "That's a bold step to take," he remarked, his admiration evident. However, he couldn't help but notice the subtle sadness in Rowan's expression. "But why the long face?" he inquired gently, concerned for her well-being. Rowan sighed softly, her voice tinged with disappointment. "I don't think I'll make it anymore. My friend, who could have taken me, isn't answering his phone. He's probably already there," she explained, her hopes deflating.
