Enjoy the journey ............. Emily POv : I was rearranging my cupboard, sorting through the piles of clothes and forgotten items, my fingers brushed against something unexpected—a diary. My diary. I paused, feeling a rush of memories flood back at the sight of the worn, weathered cover. It had been so long since I last laid eyes on it, tucked away amidst the clutter of my belongings. With curiosity, I retrieved the diary from its hiding place, feeling the weight of years past in my hands. As I flipped through its pages, the familiar scrawl of my own handwriting greeted me, each entry a window into moments long gone but not forgotten.

"No. We should apologize instead." We held each other and broke down in tears. Leonard was still in a critical stage. Meanwhile, the content of his diary was published on the Internet. The diary recorded every moment we had spent together. I sat on the bench outside the ICU, and my phone kept vibrating. "Liv, have you seen the news? Leonard's diary has gone viral on the Internet!" "Oh my God! You guys had such great memories together!" "He loves you so much…" I tapped on my phone. The topic at the top of the trending list read, "high school memories of Leonard Burton."

Damian poured himself a glass of water, barely tasted it. A soft knock sounded from the hallway. His hand reached instinctively for the gun strapped under the table. “Damian? It’s me.” Rowan’s voice. Damian eased only slightly. He crossed the room and opened the door. Rowan stepped inside, carrying a folder tucked under his arm. His face looked even more serious than usual, brows drawn tight. “You’re up late,” Rowan murmured. “I could say the same.” Rowan held up the folder. “Because what I found won’t let me sleep.”

Ryan let out a harsh breath, shocked, while Roy stood frozen and furious beside me. I kept reading. I must hide the evidence. And if anything happens to me, Hailey must never trust him. Never trust the town. They will protect him. They always have. My hands trembled so hard Roy covered the diary with his palm to steady it. I turned to the final entry, the words shaking as I whispered them aloud. If you’re reading this, my sweet girl, I didn’t die of cancer. I didn’t die in peace. I didn’t die in a hospital bed. If I disappear, I am being held somewhere. And it means he finally made his move.

I kept my head down and walked fast. Rowan's cabin wasn't that hard to find . Thea had pointed it out earlier when she'd shown me around. I knocked, hoping he was home, hoping he'd know what to do. The door opened. Rowan stood there in loose pants, no shirt, hair damp like he'd just bathed. "Dian? What's wrong?" I held out the letter. "This was under my door." He took it, read it, and his face went hard. "Come inside."

Good enough. Rowan had visited every day. He came in the mornings, sometimes for twenty minutes and sometimes longer. He brought books the second day — a history of the Royalfang territory and something lighter about pack traditions that I suspected Elara had suggested. He asked how I felt and made sure I had everything I needed, sitting in the chair near the window and speaking to me like someone fulfilling an obligation carefully and well. He never once sat on the edge of the bed and never once let the conversation go anywhere near what he had said in the library, or what I had said back, or the thing that had been left unfinished when the alarm cut us off.

I wanted to read more of what was in that diary. When I got home. That man was not in sight. “Honey, am back!” I called out trying to make sure I was alone. No answer came. I hurried to the room; I got in and closed the door behind me. I then went straight to when I hid it. Lifted the mattress and took it out.
