There were known to wreak havoc among packs. If she was a typical rogue then I could see how that would be. No wonder pack leaders usually hated them. So much so that if an alpha or luna crossed paths with one, their first instinct would be to kill. I thought about what this meant for my mate, and how my mother would take it. Would my mother try to kill my mate? Of course, I couldn’t let anything happen to her.

They looked at us like we were heroes destined to protect them, but where we?

I sounded dreamy but he was not blinking. "Look I am sorry, Mason." I looked at him. He didn't look too happy. "I'll leave here for now," he said with a pained look in his eyes. I watched him stop at the door. His gaze was sharp when he turned to look at me. "I'll give you a few more days to think about it," he was trying to suppress his anger. He was doing a good job at not killing me. I sighed as Mason left. This was the rogue king asking me to rule beside him. Did I really want to defy him? Rogues were known for being ruthless. They bowed to no one and yet here I was in a pack full of them, daring to anger their leader.

“I have men that aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty if you need the assistance. I simply want to help.” I nod, and Roger shows him to the door. As soon as he’s gone, I pour myself a generous amount of scotch. Tough kid, rough around the edges even with all his posturing in that suit and expensive haircut. Certainly somebody I’d prefer to call an ally than an enemy. When Roger returns, he immediately launches into the earful he's dying to give me. “We didn't need him to tell us it was Jack. I think it was obvious from the beginning that he’s behind this shit.”

As I walk around the great room, it's obvious that certain packs in particular are missing- the Rogue packs. Instead of having different alphas for every pack, they are all run by a king who calls himself "King of the Rogues." I can't help but roll my eyes, anybody who chooses to go by that name probably has a bigger ego than Caleb. Nobody knows what he looks like since few have ever lived after encountering him, his reputation violent and messy. He never shows up to these events despite receiving the invitations. Most alphas would prefer him as a business partner rather than an enemy.

Luke didn’t stop looking at each of them so intensely as he continued, “The rogue attack is drawing closer and closer to our boundaries.” “And we are prepared,” one of the elders replied. Luke shook his head, frowning a bit, “Are you sure about this? How ready?” he replied. The elders knew he had lost his dad to a rogue attack in a neighbouring pack, in which his dad’s friend was alpha and he had gone to assist them. Since then, their pack had been on consistent alert and guarding. No rogue was let to go free, as they could be a spy.
