He’d also been the one to follow my order to invite Cherry back from Berlin to attend my Alpha ceremony. At the thought, I gripped my phone harder. Did this have something to do with Cherry? I watched the three blinking dots for a few more seconds with strained anticipation. I promised Cherry, as her old friend, that I wouldn’t tell you this. But after yesterday and with Cherry gone again, I know I must tell you now. Cherry has a six-year-old daughter, Fern. I met her while I was in Berlin. I think Cherry conceived her while she was still in the pack.

Cherry's voice said, clearly having decided to stop letting Jacob relay things. "She ascended," I said. "She wrote a monologue and she performed it and the adjudicator said she had rarely seen that level of original writing at this age." Cherry made a sound of joy. "Tell her," Cherry said, "that my daughter Mirada is going to know that story when she is old enough." I pressed my hand to my mouth. "Tell her yourself," I said. "In about eighteen years." "I am going to," Cherry said. "I am absolutely going to."

he said, shrugging. "And you answered them correctly?!" I asked, shrieking a bit. "Your full name is Angela Cherry Woodson. D.O.B is 1st May 2000. And your favourite fruit is cherry just like your middle name." He smirked and added, "Seriously, cupcake, you underestimate me. I did my fair share of research before coming here." I gaped at him, my mouth opening and closing like a fish. Finally, I closed it properly and glared at him. "Wait, how did you find my address?"

Derek points an accusing finger at Rex. “Do not try to turn the tables around here, we both know it has nothing to do with the gruesome crimes your daughter committed and for your information, Cherry is a full grown woman who happened to have a unique child-like stature. She is not a child, don’t get that wrong and she can think on her own.” Rex replies.

My hair is a wavy mess from stress-scrunching and I’m fairly sure Roxie is sick of me asking her to test me on possible questions. “You need to eat something, you look poorly,” Cherry said sympathetically, beckoning me to join them on the bench. She looked adorable in a floaty tea-dress, blonde curls, and her signature red lipstick. I couldn’t help noticing the red stain on Matt’s lips and side of his neck.

“Of course.” She frowned slightly, then smoothed her expression. “You’re thinking about her, aren’t you?” “I’m just tired,” he replied flatly. ~~~ Later that night, long after everyone had gone to bed, Cherry stepped out onto the balcony with her phone pressed to her ear. “It’s me,” she whispered. A voice answered on the other end, low and impatient. “Did you get what we needed?” “Not everything, but I’m close. Damien is obsessed with her. He doesn’t see straight when she’s involved. That’s our opening.”

*** At the same time, in a luxuriously decorated villa. Having just showered, Cherry had put on a sexy silk nightgown and was lying on a fluffy sofa as she put on a face mask. A few days ago, the company had arranged for her to attend a show in a remote place like Khanh City. It had made Cherry very unhappy, so much so that her mood had not improved over the past few days. Still, after the incident at Grand Isle Resort, her spirits had finally been lifted a little. “Amy, what is the progress on Dwade’s side? Has he sent the video over?” asked Cherry.

By the time I looked and smelled the food, my stomach rumbled; I was hungry, it was telling me. Edward was smiling and smirking at me." Is the little Red hungry, hmm?" I nodded my head and licked my lips, thinking about my fish and chips. I started dragging him to the cart. Hello, may I help you?" the food cart worker asked. Yes, Edward said. Please give us four fish and extra chips with vinegar and Tatar sauce, thanks. She rang us up. That be $20.98, please. I was getting money out to pay us, but Edward stopped me. "What do you think you’re doing? I am paying for my food, why" Oh no sweet cheeks I frowned at him. But I can pay this time, I told him. He did not listen to me. We said thank y

Swallowing hard, I take the drink from him. So uncomfortable but not completely undesirable. It’s too much! “Cherry knew Jayden from high school in London. When she was fifteen, she told me she had a crush on him, but, and I quote in her words Women shouldn’t make a move on the men they are interested in… The men ought to make the first move.” Wait what… My eyes move back to him again, and my jaw almost drops. Firstly, he knew Cherry when she was fifteen?! That explains Mr Ken!
