She came to a red light and stopped. When it turned green, she started to go. Halfway through the light, she heard screeching tires. She looked to her left just as a car smashed into the side of her. Her body jerked to the right and back to the left. Her head smashed into the driver’s window hard enough to shatter it as the car impacted into the door. The car flipped over as the other car kept coming, out of control. As the car skidded down the road, Renee’s last thoughts were on Kevin and Christian and how she was never going to see them again. They would never get the chance to meet.

Came Brandt's challenge. They ran into the night.

Thinking of loan sharks striked fear through her heart. If they could be somehow free from them! The doorbell rang and she jumped in fright. It was past midday. Almost 3 in the afternoon. Who would come at such an odd time? With that though, she went to the front to open it. Ethan had also come out of his room curious to see who was at the door. Eloisa would not come at this time. Yoonah opened the door to her worst fear. The loan sharks were standing there. She silently led them inside. She had forgotten today's date. Ethan quickly went to call Eloisa. He knew her mother could not handle them alone.

I scoff, pressing a hand against my throbbing cheek to help calm the pain. “No I'm not.” I state, smirking as I look into his eyes. “I won The Run and the bet without being mated." I run into the forest. I run into the darkness. I run, and run, and run. He does not follow. I don't know why he has let me go. I don't have time to think about it now. I run until I cannot breathe.
