Emma’s voice shook as she began to speak. “I… I ran away from my husband three days ago,” she whispered. “He used to hit me. Almost every day. He controlled all the money, all my movements. I wasn’t allowed to work or even talk to my family. And our daughter… he’s threatening to take her away from me. I have nothing. No money, no job, no place to stay. I just… I don’t know what to do anymore.” Her voice broke, and she started crying. The pain in her words hit me like a wave. I felt my own eyes burning with tears. I reached out and took her hand gently.

With my cheeks going red, I ran my fingers into his hair, fixing them and then folding his collar properly. I pulled the hair in front to cover my strapless shoulder because of the work of art my husband just did over there. “ Let's go.” I said, stepping aside and linking my arm with his. He nodded before we headed out. Everything was almost quiet as their gaze was fixated on the big screen on the stage which was showing the growth of The Brown Empire from the very start to this point.
