he said, his voice low and dangerous, "Prepare everything. We leave at once." Damon nodded, his eyes gleaming with a hint of the same anticipation that coursed through Zach. "The rumors, Alpha? The one of the runaway?" he asked, his voice a low rumble. Zach grinned, a flash of teeth in the semi-darkness of his study. "Oh, she'll be there, Damon. I feel it in my bones. My little runaway will finally be mine." He stood, his gaze piercing and dark.

The bus pulled away from the curb, leaving the pristine, perfect world of Greenwich behind. She was a runaway bride, on a public bus, with no money, no phone, and no plan. She was, finally, disappearing.

I run as fast as I can without any direction in my mind. Bullets were continuously fired in my direction but I kept on running until all I could hear was my breathing. Thrilled and overjoyed, Charlie quickly stuffed the Apocalyptic Book into his pocket, but the book instantly turned into powder and disappeared into thin air. Miraculously, every word in the book was clearly imprinted in Charlie’s brain. At this moment, Jacob, who ran away like a coward, was brutally apprehended by several big and strong men and was hurled back to the shop. Looking at his puffy and swelling cheeks, Charlie figured that he must have been beaten vigorously before he was carried back here.
