Russian Roulette 소설 & 이야기

He inspected the padlock and said something in Russian, to which his other friend laughed. “You’re American, no?” The man before her—a tall, stocky blond—spoke in a thick accent. “Alexei Nikolin’s girlfriend?” His words were slurred, and based on the way his other friend was constantly shifting on his weight, they looked drunk. Dani remained frozen, shaky legs barely able to keep her upright in terror. “Mr. Viktor says you are his prize, then he give you to us later.” The blond took out a gun from behind his back and started waving it around. “But Mr. Viktor take long time, and my friend Igor and I not very patient.”

They'd had a huge fight, so she'd come running back to her ex, hoping Isak would marry her as a final 'fuck you' to Sandro. After a long hesitation, I grabbed my car keys, the wound in my side throbbing. I didn't know what I expected to see. Maybe I just needed to see him risk his life for another woman one last time. Maybe that would finally kill the last bit of hope I had left. Russian Roulette. The cruelest duel. One bullet in a six-shooter. They take turns until someone's dead. Sandro was arrogant and brutal. Isak wouldn't stand a chance.

Said the Cruel- man, “What if someone dies and you are to be blamed again? It will be the second accusation without an alibi, do you know what will happen? 25years tops!” I thought about it. RasterBook, you can kill your father for all I care, I don’t care. “Do you know chess?” asked the Russian “I didn’t come here for that, sir!” “Come on, Mastermind.” He said, “A game or two would do.” “What happens for every game I lose or win?” “Let`s play.” I played a game with the Russian, quite a game we played. Just when I was about to checkmate him, I got a strangely missed call alert. I didn’t hear it ring if it did.

“Your father called me here for two things. One of which you already know, the second one is to test you.” He picked the gun and popped open the cylinder, sliding one bullet inside. “I’m not into fancy tests, riddles or shit like that. Russian roulette. Simple rules. Simple game.” I rolled my eyes at him, already tired of our interaction. “I’m not here for games.” He spun the bullet chamber and snapped it shut. “Two pulls.” He tossed the gun my way and I caught it from the air. Of course he does something like this. His brain is too stupid to come up with something that doesn’t involve death.

His voice was low and soft, and it scared me more than if he would have shouted. “Watch how you speak to me, or you’ll soon find out how sick I really am.” My breath shook, but I held his stare. Russian roulette. One blink, and I’d be dead. Maybe that would be a quicker demise than what he had in store for me. His eyes warned, Don’t play games you can’t win. Mine said, This isn’t a game. It’s hell. After a tense pause, he released me. “You, Mila, are just a means to an end. I won’t say I didn’t enjoy it though.” His gaze flicked to the TV as my moans grew louder. “Such an enthusiastic kotyonok.”

I was betrayed.” Pointing directly at his head, I stood up from a chair. His face suddenly had an intense color that represented the dread I liked the most.

ADELINE “Did you just say Russian roulette?” “If you know the game then you don’t need basic introductions.” A cruel smile plays on his lips. His long fingers slide around the metal with expert ease as he rolls the rotating cylinder open and dumps the bullet inside. For a moment, I wish the scene before me is just a nightmare. Croix has a gun and he’s going to play a game with it. “Please tell me this is a joke.” I whisper, my heart beating loudly in my chest and my meal threatening to appear. I did not hesitate. I exhaled. I squeezed the trigger. Bang. The sound was deafening in the tiled room. The Russian’s head snapped back. A red mist sprayed the white cabinets. He crumbled. He fell backward. He pulled Chloe with him. They hit the floor in a tangle of limbs and lace. Silence returned. The only sound was the buzzing light and the drip, drip of Luca’s blood. I walked forward. I kicked the Russian’s gun away. I put a second bullet in his chest to be sure.
