Drake growled. Suddenly, his eyes turned red; he was fuming mad as he transformed. He runs towards the rouge, who transforms into a werewolf and mercilessly scratches his back. He wasn’t contented; he attacked the rouge, and then Drake beheaded the rouge until it transformed into a human, lying on the ground, lifeless. They fought the other rouge and howled angrily. “That’s for poisoning my stray!” Drake gritted his teeth as he beheaded them all. Beta Dillon picked up the poison's antidote and gave it to the alpha.

Ace was leaning against the reception desk, his easy, heartthrob smile working its usual magic on the staff. The heavy doors swung open, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop ten degrees as Riven strode through. Ace’s grin didn't just fade; it vanished. He didn't need to ask. "Hey!" She called the man and followed him. "What is your strategy?"

He reached out like he was going to tug at my ponytail, and I swatted his hand away. We pushed through the doors into the car park—and nearly collided with Dante Williams. Dante Williams. My stomach did a somersault. “Yo, Fallon,” Dante said, clapping Ace on the back as they did the man hug thing. “What’s up, man?” “All good,” Ace replied easily. Dante turned his attention to me, and my brain stopped working. “And you are…?” His smile was devastating up close.

Detecting her scent, Ace realized she was a vampire and averted his gaze to avoid her compelling gaze, even as an Alpha. The vampire introduced herself as Tiffany, claiming knowledge of him and the young girl in his care. At the mention of the girl, Ace glared and growled at Tiffany. She expressed disinterest in the girl, desiring Ace instead for his imminent Alpha status. Tiffany proposed they mate to produce hybrid offspring to lead future packs. Ace's laughter angers Tiffany, prompting her to reveal wolfsbane stored in balloons. She hurled one to the floor; it burst, releasing smoke. Ace held his breath futilely and succumbed to unconsciousness.

“I don’t want to say goodbye, Papa.” Rylan hugged him tightly, his eyes briefly closing as he fought to steady his emotions. “It’s not goodbye, little warrior. It’s just ‘see you later.’ You’ll visit, and we’ll still make memories together. You’re my son, no matter where you live.” When Ace finally pulled back, Rylan reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, intricately carved wooden wolf pendant strung on a leather cord. He slipped it around Ace’s neck, the wolf glinting in the morning sunlight.

Ace stood alone as the road curved into silence. Behind him, the woods stirred and then they came. Ten wolves. They were dark, fast, and soulless. Their eyes glowed with that same unnatural light he remembered from his days under control. Midnight Mystery wolves. They were noty just simple wolves but Engineered monsters. He didn’t hesitate. Ace shifted. His silver wolf burst forth in a flash of power and fury. His eyes gleamed violet under the rising moon. He met the first wolf mid-leap and slammed him into the dirt with a bone-breaking crunch.

He didn’t let go completely though, he curled an arm around my waist and held me there and I took a breath to steady my emotions. “No idea, mother.” Ace said. “But I do have an idea where he could have gotten the tickets, but…” He said and trailed of on a sigh and shook his head. “What is it?” I asked and he shook his head. “Why don’t you go on ahead with my parents while I make a call and I will catch up in a few minutes.” He said I looked at him suspiciously so he added, “I will tell you about it later, I just need to make sure of something.” He spoke. There wasn’t anything else I could do so I nodded before walked with his parents to the entrance to the opera hall to fall in line. ACE POV

Now, as he walked graciously onto the dirt, the sheer majesty of his form made my mouth drop open in pure awe. His fur was a striking, jet-black color, and his frame was easily twice the size of Draven’s wolf. His eyes glowed a fierce, electric blue, and cutting straight along the edge of his massive body was a single, flawless line of stark white fur. Draven’s gray wolf rushed forward in a brutal, blind charge but Ace dodged the attack with effortless grace, his massive frame shifting like a shadow. Extending his heavy claws, he brought his paw down, scratching Draven’s flank with enough force to snap the gray wolf back into his human form.
