The light merged with the distortions, illuminating the branches with clarity. Every line trembled then responded. “Whoa!” Rian gasped. “It likes your luminosity!" “No,” Kade whispered. “It recognizes it.” The distortions pulled inward, slithered together, and condensed into two main routes. There were red marks all over the map, along with tiny penciled columns of numbers and what looked like percentages next to them. “What…what is this?” I asked, curious. I ran my fingers over the maps. Here, there was a large red circle with the number 50 beneath it and the notation, “65, 10, 70%”

“We heard the news.” Alpha Raymond’s eyes widened slightly. “Three?” “Yes,” I smiled. “Three.” “Then you carry more than just a mission,” he replied. We sat down, and I laid the illusion map flat on the table — the one I had copied from the markings on my back onto a moving magical surface. “This is where we’re headed,” I explained. “North. Toward the caves.” Alpha Raymond studied it carefully. Luna Claire leaned closer. “There is a route,” Alpha Raymond said slowly. “But it’s not easy. The northern terrain is unstable — narrow passes, frozen ridges, hidden drops.”

The destination glowed brighter than every other mark on the map. As everyone watched, another image appeared. A mountain unlike any I had ever seen. Its peak disappeared into dark clouds. Silver rivers flowed down its sides. Ancient ruins clung to cliffs carved by time itself.

I had thought she was just speaking and assumed she could use the map as Elijah stated, but she was right. The map was confusing. She pointed to where we were, but there was no direct line leading to her forehead. Nothing. It was as if the lines pointing to the hollow from this split had been intentionally cleaned on the map. And the weirdest thing was that the longer you stared at it, the more confused it made you.
