In the challenging mountain roads, the jeep had become coated with mud, and now its wheel was stuck in a puddle. Ryder glared at the men in the jeep. He noticed that Lyle wasn’t there. Fury rose in his chest, as fists curled into tight balls and muscles of the shoulders and arms bulged. “Alpha Ryder,” Drake said in a cold, careful voice as his hand glided on his rifle. “Alpha Drake,” he replied without blinking. He noticed the other two men were flinching as they grabbed their rifles in their hands. “I will only ask you once,” said Ryder in a menacing voice. “Where is Lyle?”

I stepped out on the passenger side, feeling eyes on me like needles. Ryder climbed out of the driver’s seat like he owned the parking lot. Of course, his father…. the lycan king… practically owned stoneridge academy. He stood out tall, broad-shouldered, dressed in his hockey team jacket and dark jeans that hugged his powerful thighs. His dark hair was still slightly messy from the morning, and that same unreadable expression sat on his handsome face. The news had already spread like wildfire and by the time we reached the main doors, whispers rippled through the crowded hallways.
