His body shimmered and began to shift. The transformation was both terrifying and beautiful. Bones cracked, muscles stretched, and thick fur—deep obsidian with streaks of silver—rippled across his growing frame. In seconds, the man was gone, replaced by the majestic beast that was his wolf, Ravik. Massive and regal, Ravik stood taller than any other werewolf on the field. His glowing golden eyes shone with a fierce determination, and his presence radiated raw, unyielding power. He didn’t wait. With a snarl that echoed across the shore, he sprinted through the rift. The crack sealed behind him the moment his hind legs crossed the line.

Dark Moon might attack again. “You think this was Damon don’t you?” Ryker asks, his eyebrows drawn in together as he thinks. “But why retreat, why not try and kill you too? And how would he know where the bunkers are? Do you suspect a rat?” Ryker’s voice deepens at the end, the anger evident, and his eyes flash golden. His wolf is near the surface. Ryker closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He is usually the most composed and controlled of the three of us. But he nearly lost his sister, Freya and Jane, a few years ago because of a traitor. So, when it comes to someone betraying their pack, he doesn’t have an ounce of mercy.

Thane's eyes widened, his expression impressed. "That's quite a feat," he said, his voice thoughtful. Ryker nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "And that's not all," he said, his voice filled with enthusiasm. "Eirak has also proven himself to be a skilled fighter, able to take down multiple opponents with ease."

It would explain things a bit, considering she had no trouble handling the other rogues. When Ryker lifted the gun and aimed it at his brother, he spoke. “I am sorry this happened to you. We are trying to find a way to cure everyone, so I can take you back and lock you up until we find a cure, or I will have no choice but to kill you.” A growl emitted from the wolf, which I was sure that meant he wasn’t going to go back with Ryker willingly. The wolf’s ears peeled back, and he lowered his head as if he was about to attack. Ryker fired his gun and I saw it hit the wolf.

His expression unyielding. Ryker was once a respected member of the pack, his reputation had been tarnished by a past mistake, a mistake that had caused him his position and pride. His eyes once warm and pride now a hold a strong tint of cold calculation. His broad shoulders and towering height commanding attention. His voive was deep and firm, ''Enough Ember'' he said, his tone final. ''Your mother and i have discussed this. Marrying Lucas is the only way to restore our family's honor within the pack. You will do as you are told.''

Even though I badly need answers on who the fuck Ryker is and what ties or whatever he wants with Layla, I will not push Erin to give me those answers if he is not ready. The boy has gone through so much trauma, and I need him in his best mind to help me against Ryker only if he can handle it. I know he is strong, maybe not so much as his sister, but he is brave nonetheless. “Ryker is pure evil,” I listen to him boldly speaking up finally, “Ryker is not just some rogue leader with anger issues. He’s the head of a trade. Slaves. Captives. Torture for hire. He takes in the broken, the unwilling, and the desperate, and turns them all into currency.”

I hoped to knock him out with my martial art skills. But now, he brought up my family, I knew he was not a man to be trifled with. “What do you want? And why should I do it?” I asked. “That is because you are a brave wolf, and you love your family too much to lose them all in one day.” Ryker said, his lips brushing against mine. “What do you want from me?” I asked, my heart pounding in my chest. “Your cooperation in my plan to overthrow, Fenrir.” Ryker said, his eyes cold and hard.

I caught a glance at the scar down the right side of his face,old, jagged, a memory from the last time we faced each other. “Didn’t think the great Alpha would come out,” Rourke said, a smirk tugging the edge of his lips. “I must say, Ryker, you’ve grown more fascinating over time.” I didn’t speak. He glanced at my chest, then to my eyes. “So the rumors are true. A hybrid. Half wolf, half something... deadlier.” I remained still. He chuckled. “Of course, I didn’t just come with silver. That would be stupid, wouldn’t it?”

I shielded my gaze, unable to look upon him any longer despite how brave I considered myself. “That is Hanjo, a warrior from Dark Path Pack. He is a terrible shifter in battle and bows only to his Alpha.” Ryker described him with curious interest, his dark eyes twinkling. It appeared that he was more talkative around me than his master. It pleased me that he was comfortable with me enough to speak freely. His wisdom would eventually come in handy: I just knew it.

“Any business you have to sort out with this cunt, do it before sunrise, or I’ll deem you all enemies.” I walk forward when I see him turning his back to walk away. “Wait; what the fuck? What just happened here, Ryker? Who exactly are you?” Ryker stops in his tracks, then turns his head to the side. “I’m someone who can’t interfere in the affairs of humans and supernatural creatures alike. But when a blood accord is broken, I’ll take the lives of all those I deem guilty. I don’t have a beginning or an end, but I do have a purpose.”
