What that woman wanted most was to get rid of her. A week later, Libia finally gathered the courage to leave the house, trying to regain some sense of routine. Everything felt new, as if she were doing things for the first time. Natalia didn’t want to push her, but Libia’s withdrawn attitude was worrying. Gone was the extroverted Libia who loved going to concerts, dancing, and participating in animal welfare campaigns. Now, she seemed shy, thoughtful, and, above all, tense and nervous.

Chloe stared in disbelief at the woman on the opposite side of the glass while she replayed the conversation she’d just had with her. “I do this for science,” the pretty nineteen-year-old blonde, called Sadie, stated with a thick southern drawl. “How did you come to know about Dr. Sudnik’s project?” Chloe asked. “Were you living in Philadelphia?” “Oh no,” Sadie said with a light chuckle. “I ain’t never left the mountain until the doc showed up. He paid my parents a goodly sum for me to participate. Poverty runs deep in the Appalachian Mountains. I was happy to do this to help the family.”

There wasn't a point in telling her 'Don't worry, you'll be adopted, too' or 'Someone will pick you'. That would be a lie. Sister Mary Eunice left the room, smiling at the solemn girl. It was a smile of pity. She knew what Madie was thinking, what she wanted to say. No one wanted her. Nobody ever did. They thought she was weird and too... childish. People tell her to act like my age, like I'm supposed to be at age 20, but she can't. She couldn't. And they can't understand. They were so lucky. Madie wanted to be adopted, too. She wanted to have a family, too. She wanted a mommy or a daddy, too.

Treasa took pause to try to wrap her little mind around her mothers’ words before she looked back to Liam and smiled, “I’m sorry, Daddy.” Liam took her into his arms and planted a kiss on her rosy cheek. The sight of the two of them together was everything to Saraid. The knowledge of her being a succubus threw Saraid’s world into chaos, to say the least, but Liam and Treasa were the very two people she lived and breathed for. Raff looks shocked at the accusation and a bit scared. “Woah there princess! No one went through your things or read your spell book. Just hear Raff out, then you can explain what your spell book has to do with you being more fae than we thought,” Aiden says, stepping to block Raff from her wrath if she unleashes it.

I say smiling back just as the girl next to me gasps. "No way, Mia!" she screams hugging me tightly, im frozen in shock not knowing what to do while this crazy girl is choking the life out of me. She then pulls away and just stares at me as I stare back at her in confusion. She's actually really pretty, tall, blonde, heart shaped face and she's smiling like a psycho but pretty none the less. Sadie back then was so skinny, she could probably jump into a straw with her legs wide open and she had dull blonde hair and wore enormous glasses but the girl in front of me now is fit to be America's next top model.

“Wow, hi to you too, sis. Why the hell do you look like you’ve been thoroughly fucked ?” "WHATTTTT," Sade said as she clutched the items in her arms tighter, trying to sound casual. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at your apartment?” Madison shrugged as she stepped inside, closing the door behind her. “I left a book here last week and couldn’t find it at home. Figured I’d swing by and grab it.” She narrowed her eyes at Sade. “Why are you acting so damn weird?” Sade laughed nervously. “Weird? I’m not acting weird.”
