Or at least just this once. The sun was fully gone, and my heart started racing again. If I look down, I’ll be able to see my reflection already. But disappointment slowly fill me seeing my scarred face looking back at me, a hint of dismay and fear was written all over my face. I have finally learned to love myself after so many trials and your hatred is too small to make me forget it. Getting up and going to the washroom,I splash water on my face and stare at my reflection in the the cracked mirror. My unique green eyes staring back at me. I rarely see the mirror, except for when I apply make up. I remember I didn't see my face in the mirror for 1 year after that accident. Was I still beautiful? Why do people stare at me? My fingers trace my face as I look closer and that's when I see it. The scar which still looked fresh as yesterday.

Like I have two dimples when I smile while Emily has two but one is not that deep. I have a small birthmark just above my navel, which Emily doesn't have. When I went out two days ago to meet up with Maddie at Starbucks, people were congratulating me on my wedding. I was too embarrassed to say I'm not the one getting married but my twin. Nobody will believe me, anyway. So I thanked them and smiled politely at them. At the mall, when we went shopping for wedding gifts, someone congratulated me, and I told him I wasn't the one he never believed me.

"No way! Natalie's the one who sold her kidney," Evelyn snapped, shoving Natalie aside to inspect me. "She has lost a kidney," the leader confirmed. "Taking the other would kill her." Just as Evelyn's hand reached for me, Natalie cried out and collapsed, revealing a prominent scar on her abdomen. "Go ahead and take her to the hospital. She is faking to win your love." Evelyn flinched, rushing back to check Natalie's scar. "I almost fell for her trick. Don't worry. I'm taking you to the hospital now."

It’s not possible. It was just an attraction. Temporary. She’s a beautiful and kind girl, and I’m just attracted to her personality—that’s all. I tried convincing myself. I stared at my reflection for a while. The scars on the right side of my face looked the same as always—ugly and disgusting. But the right… it still had traces of the man I used to be. I lifted my hand to cover the scarred half. The other side… wasn’t so bad. Just then, an idea struck my mind.

Her tone was casual as she responded, "Ms. Lacey liked roses, so Mr. Lacey had it all redone for her. "And who are you, old lady? Ms. Saccone, you really shouldn't bring unrelated people in here. If they're carrying any viruses, can you bear the responsibility if Ms. Lacey gets sick?" Before Katie could finish her sentence, I slapped her hard across the face. Thank you” I said dryly and made to enter my car but she was fast to touch me by my hand. I quickly removed her hand from my body like it was a plague and looked at her angrily. “Never in your life, I repeat, never touch me with that hand you uses to give my dad a hand job” Scarlett looked pretty embarrassed as I said that but she was quick to cover it up with a scoff.

Her nostrils flared and her brows knitted. Lilly stood there nervously as guilt rushed through her veins. Her brown waves covered half of her face and her emerald eyes were lowered. "What are you doing here ?" Champagne stood up harshly and the chair scraped against the floor making Lilly take a step back. "I..." Lilly lifted her head to explain and finally her sister noticed the scar on her face. It was vertical across her cheek with blood dried on it. Champagne's eyes roamed all over Lilly's body, she had on a blue sundress that was all dirty and her body was covered in scratches.

Blood trickled out of the wound staining her face with it. "What are you girls doing?" Someone screamed from behind. It was Jackie. She became exasperated when saw the laceration on her face. It was so deep and it would definitely leave a terrible scar. She would be hideous for life. Even with a scar removal surgery, her face would never return to it's previous glory. They weren't best of friends but Riri was still her cousin. She didn't deserve this. She couldn't just stand by and let some low lives disfigure her face.
