His lips twisted into a shaky smile as he turned toward the exit, but the feeling of triumph was short-lived. A faint, sickening sound echoed through the hall. He stopped, confusion flickering across his face. The world seemed to spin around him, and his vision blurred. A moment later, he understood: his headless body was still walking forward. The realization struck him as his severed head tumbled to the ground, his mouth frozen in a silent scream, eyes wide with terror. The Overseer lowered his outstretched hand, a faint frustrated expression playing on his lips. “Fucking Useless, incompetence deserves no mercy. The Overlord will not be pleased.”
