Nicky's POV It was on the news the next morning. Police and FBI looking for a suspect in the murder of a Jane Doe. Burned and tortured beyond recognition. Ryder had sent FBI teams out looking for Volkov and Sarah immediately after hanging up the phone. No one had found her. Until early this morning. She was found in an abandoned building. No identification. That wasn't surprising. The world never knew who Sarah Smith was. She was invisible and she had liked it that way.

You were the one who said that he was dead,” one of the reporters argued out, showing her the video. Carter was in black so the blood stains were not seen on him. “I was wrong. He woke up later. His fiancé did not give up on him and the reason why he is not here is that there are still some hoodlums in the manor. I have been here since last night and I know what I am talking about,” Sarah explained calmly. As soon as she was done, another reporter threw another question at her.

She couldn't shake the feeling that someone was trying to cover up a bigger conspiracy, and she was determined to get to the bottom of it. Sarah was killed in an execution style, and she was twenty-five at the time. Her body was discovered ten minutes after Emma's parents' bodies. Her case went cold as it was ruled out as an armed robbery gone wrong. She hadn't even heard about it until today. Meaning that somebody had used all their resources to make sure it was buried. Or, it was a situation of her department being lazy and annoyed, refusing to invest time in her case as they saw it as a waste of resources.

Murdering someone I have been given express orders not to kill would be one of those lines.
