I curled up beside a rock, able only to hope that my teammates would come back for me. Two hours passed. I was soaked through and beginning to suffer from hypothermia. I collapsed to the ground, my consciousness hazy. At that moment, my phone rang. It was Stefan. He asked where I was. I opened my mouth, but no sound came out. Before I lost consciousness completely, I vaguely saw a familiar figure running toward me. Stefan saved me. He carried me down the hill and successfully met up with the search team. When I woke, I was in his arms.

Then, suddenly, a miracle occurred. Cassia's body convulsed, and she coughed violently, expelling water from her lungs. Her chest heaved as she took in ragged breaths, her eyes fluttering open with a dazed expression. She was disoriented and confused, but she was alive. Cassia spoke weakly, "Wha... What happened?" The relief that washed over the onlookers was palpable. Isabella rushed to her daughter's side, tears of gratitude in her eyes.

Now I just have to save him to make this a reality. My body was screaming, begging me to let go, but I refused. I was determined to save him, and so I will. My power surged from me into him, forcing its way into the tiny speck of light that was left inside him. Somehow, I could picture it all, seeing the light grow inside him. It was as if a cracked door had opened, spilling light into a dark space. The light only grew as I continued to push into him, until finally the darkness had been pushed out. Suddenly, a large dark shadow separated from Elliot’s slinking away into the night. It was the creepiest thing I had seen yet, since discovering this world.

She blindly followed him the few blocks to a massive warehouse, “In here,” he remarked, shutting the door after her. Yada walked in smelling something-- something that she could not quite place; it wasn't rotted, or dead, but something close to it. “Before I go any farther, tell me, who are you?” He stood at full height and smiled. “I am the one who will free you,” he said in a dark voice. He usually hated the demon’s voice but now it brought sudden comfort. “Liked the little tour?” Damien asked after he lets go of Chris. The human catches his breath. That place and feeling is very suffocating. The demon disappeared without notice while Chris ended up in the couch. His knees are trembling so hard.
