Author's POV ~> Later that evening, Scarlett revealed her plans to drop the kids at her grandma's (McKenzie's) Mansion. Emily was super excited except for Eric whose face twisted in confusion. “Who's McKenzie?” He asked as he picked his nose. Emily turned to him with a reassuring smile. “She's my grandmother and she's a nice person. I'm sure you're going to love her.” Eric seems skeptical. Scarlett’s heart broke because she feared that he might not like McKenzie.

“Wait, wait, please, Scarlett! I’m sorry about what happened at the resort. I didn’t come here to hurt you. I’m only here to make things right.” I scoffed, loud and harsh. “Make things right?” I shoved her shoulder. “You and Liam destroyed my life and my trust, and now you’re acting like some kind of saint?” She opened her mouth to respond, but I didn’t let her. “Hell no. How did you even find me, Emily?”
