He exclaimed as if he had just seen a monster. I arched an eyebrow at him, “What is it?” “Who gave you that nasty scratch on your face and the side of your neck?” He asked and then grinned knowingly. “What sort of wild cat did you pick up tonight? I thought you forbade ladies from scratching your body with their nails.” He squinted at me. “And jeez! Those don’t even look like they were done by nails, but rather claws!” I frowned and downed the hard liquor I poured into a glass in one gulp. “It’s a long, long story, Jake. Let’s just say I had a rough one for the night.” I said flatly.

She keeps a close eye on everything but the experiment for me to keep me focused. "Meow..." A young cat's cry came from under the window. "Looks like there's a cat out there?" I was staring intently at the changes in the petri dish until I heard a shrill cat cry. I raised my head and saw Carolina fall backwards to the ground. Her arm was oozing blood, and the cat that had scratched her had fled the window.

I could hear sound of different animals, but it didn't move me an inch, not until a loud roar hit my ears sending goosebumps all over my body. It was a hungry cougar, an enemy to wolves. "You look like you got caught in a cat fight and we don't have cats. " I sigh, washing my face with water from the tap, moving to tap dry it with the towel. I was still trying to understand whether what I saw last night was actually real, the only thing that proved I hadn't been dreaming was the numerous scratches that lined my face from the tree branches I'd ran into. How am I supposed to tell my best friend that her story was true? The same story we had both claimed never to believe in. I mean, my mind could have been playing tricks on me. The scattered bones of those skeletons are burning badly in the ground in front of us, and some have already turned to ashes. I don't know how it happened, but I was able to zoom in on our surroundings again. I was flabbergasted by what I saw, and a loud gasp escaped from my lips. "Oh my God, sweetie, are you okay?" The woman rushed to check his scratches. Little Rhea watched, concerned, her eyes on the cat. Surely they'd scold it.
