As he made his way across the room, he glanced at the bookshelves he passed but saw no books here that were turned upside down. Upstairs, he placed the book on an entry table in the hallway then paused, ears alert for any sounds like he’d heard this morning. Despite his love of horror, or perhaps because of it, Brad had never been easily unnerved. Scary movies, haunted trails and spook houses, most had little effect on him, and as for real life, he reserved his fear for things like disease, natural disasters, catastrophic accidents. It took more than an empty house to give him the creeps. Usually.

What could be so frightening that it was scaring a zombie and a werewolf? I peered into the darkness that surrounded me, but I could see nothing. I looked for Peter, but he was fading away. I could hear him calling for me to hurry before it was too late, but I could no longer see him. Something told me that whatever was coming was far more dangerous to me than a zombie or a werewolf, but I just couldn’t see what it was. I awoke with a start. The lights were out in my room and the blinds were shut, but thin lighting from the brilliancy of the full moon managed to slip through the blinds enough to make my room suitably visible.

I was directed to the shelf that contained books on mystical beings. I picked the first book I could lay my hands on and opened it to the chapter where vampires were discussed. "I guess you love fairy tales," I turned to see a young man, dressed in a black suit. His hands were in his pocket as he was grinning widely at me. I cocked my eyebrow. "Vampires aren't necessarily classified as fairy tales" I corrected him. "You could say so. I mean they're different, strange, and strong. They ain't human"

Still the rain didn't look like stopping anytime soon so she thought she'd look around, maybe she could find a cheap copy of one of the classics she liked. Tara dropped this idea as she began to wander between the shelves, the books all seemed very odd. Those which she could read the titles of were things like 'The Occult Magick of the Amazon', 'Guide to the Dark Dimension', 'John Dee's Rituals', 'Demon Summoning' and 'Aleistar Crowley's Full Works'. Tara thought she'd heard of the last guy, some sort of mystic from before the Second World War. However the odd books didn't disturb half as much as the things which were dotted around the book shelves. All manner of weird items such as wands, a

"Tell me I was dreaming" She looked at her best friend who looked at Japh. Japh shook his head. "You were…he was…" Iris pointed and touched her forehead. "Breathe" "Werewolves don't exist, right?" She suddenly stood up. "Because there's no way I just saw you change into a...oh no!"

But the book is filled with shadowy creatures and monsters that feed on humans and animals alike. Letting out another loud sigh, I reached for the book and pulled it out. Even though I had wanted to drop this book and find another one that would be more accurate, I wasn't able to find another book back at home. Maybe there might be some in this castle? With the book in my hands, I walked over to the bed and sat at the edge. Placing my hand flat against the hard cover of the book, I traced it from top to bottom, wondering if I should continue reading or just stop filling my head with scary stories.

What in the world is going on? My mouth dropped in awe as some writing began to come up on the book, I wanted to take my hands off the book and scream out my lungs in fear but for some reasons I couldn't , I just watched in shock and as soon as it stopped I lifted the book up to my face to see what was written there. You shiver when you always think of, A werewolf in the night, They eat human flesh so yuck and sticky, But it’s just in your mind You might think there’s a creepy castle,

In 1983 a Mrs Carson of New York was laid out in our coffin, presumed dead of hear disease. As mourners watched, she suddenly sat up, alive as you or I. Unfortunately her daughter dropped dead of fright on the spot. I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books. I'm thinking of writing my own scary stories, but not anytime soon.
