"Emma went out to meet a client today. Could it be her in the elevator?" Anna's face went completely pale. "Oh my God. I was already joking with her about being wrapped up like a burrito. She's only been here a month. This is too horrible." Seeing the blood on the floor, others gasped in shock. "She just graduated from grad school. So young, and already…" "She was a little strange at first, but she was a good person. How could something like this happen to her?" The murmurs grew louder, filled with stunned disbelief and sorrow.

" Mirabel said in a rush before the phone hung up. A sad smile formed on Laura's lips. The cold was beginning to brush her skin and that was an added problem to her current predicament. She walked over to a spot under a nearby tree and sat down, leaning her back against it. Different scary thoughts came into her mind, like spiders, snakes, scorpions or worse ghosts, monsters! She had heard, read and watched about them but she didn't know if they were real. The thought made her shudder. She scolded herself for watching horror movies and promised herself not to try them again, ever! When the cold was beginning to get a bit chilly, another call came into her phone and she glanced at the screen,

I need to go for one.” Rachel blinks at me incredulously. “You're joking. The one with the scary people and potential serial killers behind masks? No.” “It'll be fun, I promise.” I whine. As a teenager, I loved reading horror stories. The thrill, the heart pounding scenes, I was obsessed. Who would have thought my life was going to end like one big horror movie?

Suddenly, Adrian realized that these individuals indeed harbored ulterior motives. Adrian expanded his awareness, and the sight before him left him speechless. The entire hall was now teeming with an array of ghosts and monsters. Among them were towering old men with only one eye, lanterns swaying on a single leg, malformed boys with just one limb each, women clad in white exuding a bone-chilling aura, and skeletal figures draped in human skin...

“What? Oh, right! What did I do on Halloween when I was your age? I don’t know if you should hear this. I mean, it’s not pretty. It’s downright scary as hell!” “The scarier, the better.” “You might change your mind afterward.” “Come on Grandpa, quit teasing me and tell the story!” “Precious, truly, I’m not teasing. I don’t want you to have nightmares because of me. Besides, this is about teenage boys and when they’re by themselves, they use colorful language. Your mom and dad won’t be happy with me.” “I watch scary stuff all the time on TV and the internet. I don’t have nightmares and Grandpa... I go to school with teenage boys, I know how they talk.”

Just remember, if you don’t want things to go bump in the night, don’t tell anyone else about them. Even now the shadows in my room play havoc with my subconscious, so I turn the light on and sleep with one eye open. Also, when my computer starts to go on the fritz just as I write a particularly spooky part of a story, I chuck it up to chance and swallow a little harder before checking to make sure that I have only one shadow. It’s amazing that I still get so scared as an adult. You sure would have thought that for someone who makes a living scaring people, I would know better, right?

In 1983 a Mrs Carson of New York was laid out in our coffin, presumed dead of hear disease. As mourners watched, she suddenly sat up, alive as you or I. Unfortunately her daughter dropped dead of fright on the spot. I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books. I'm thinking of writing my own scary stories, but not anytime soon. I darted my eyes away quickly-- "You promised," Al said all of a sudden. "What?" I paused in surprise. "No question asked," Al smirked, holding out his hand to me. I was grateful that he didn't ask into it. Night fell. So the thing about horror stories is that-- The fear kicks in only at dark nights when you are alone, not when you are at the crowded theater or on the bright street. Meaning-- I couldn't fall asleep that night. Turns out it's a bit hard to fall asleep when you don't close your eyes because you feel the need to stare at everything with alert.

As the stories got scarier, I noticed a few of the younger pack members huddling closer to their parents, seeking comfort and reassurance. Soon, it was my turn to share a story. Feeling the weight of the moment, I cleared my throat and began my tale. "In a small village, there was a haunted mansion. It was said that the spirit of a vengeful witch roamed the halls, seeking revenge on anyone who dared to enter her domain..." I let my imagination run wild, conjuring spine-chilling scenes and mysterious characters. The pack leaned in closer, their eyes wide with fascination, hanging onto every word I spoke. The suspenseful atmosphere made my heart race with excitement.
