I need to head back asap! I went through as many books as I could without even looking to make sure I got them all. I starting getting a bad feeling and I knew my time was up. I needed to go now! Mary quickly finished the food by gulping it down her throat, that was kept besides her and just as she was searching for something to drink, a hand holding a bottle of water was stretched in front of her face, startling her. Only then did she realize that she was originally inside a dark room locked away. All the memories of that human maid being killed in front of her eyes with blood oozing around from her neck and splattering around started flashing in Mary's mind making her become scared and cover herself in a foetal position. Her eyes widened and she hugged her body on the ground, burying her face in her palms, trying to hide away.

They looked cozy, wrapped up in scarves and jackets, and it reminded me of how everything in my life felt colder these days—except moments like these with Mary. I sighed, leaning my elbow on the table. “I just don’t get it, Mary. What’s her deal? Why does she care so much about me when she already has everything she wants?” Mary tilted her head thoughtfully, her fingers tapping against her mug. “Maybe because she doesn’t actually have everything. You said it yourself…she’s scared. And when people are scared, they do crazy stuff. Like confronting their fiancé’s ex in a completely over-the-top way.”

Mary had had enough of the tour; it was only making her realize how poor she was in comparison to him, and she was just ready to sleep the day off. But she couldn’t resist the beautiful patio she had walked by earlier, so she walked towards it and sat down on the chair. A book had fallen off the chair, and she picked it up, taking an interest in it. And so, Mary dug into "Angels and Demons," the fictional book by Dan Brown. So lost was she in the book that she tuned out everything, flipping each page with urgency. The honking of a car distracted Mary, and that was the only time she looked up. The sun's intensity had reduced, and cool air was blowing.

I step toward it, but Mary falls back. “No way. It’s all shadowy and creepy." She wraps her arms around herself, the cold breeze rustling her hair. She's never been the curious type, which is how she ends up making all the right decisions, and I end up involved with a Demon. “Something doesn’t feel right about it," I tell her. I wasn’t sure if it was her statement or the fact that she just confirmed the rumours I’d heard about Alexander in the past that terrified me. “Then I have to leave.” I blurted. I couldn't be running from a demon and be with one. I ignored the crazy look Mary tossed my way and said, "Do you have another option for me? He's mad at me and might want to kill me." Open opened her mouth to speak but stopped when a loud powerful howl sounded a few distances away. Startled, we gazed at each other. Mary was the first to break the silence and she shivered. “It’s him and I won’t advise you to run away because he'll definitely catch you."

Sakura paused at this and asked, “What do you mean? Just because they saw me Saturday night doesn’t mean they could easily find me in this beautiful city with more than three million people in it.” Mary laughed. “Well, did I tell you I have psychic powers?” Toby appeared at the door. Sakura waved her hand as invitation. The dog gladly came running to her and hopped onto her belly. Sakura stroked him as Toby made himself comfortable. “No, you didn’t, and I know you don’t, Mary.” Sakura heard a big harrumph. “Well, that was a good try, though. Oh, when am I ever going to see you? I want to see you. Can’t we just meet somewhere?”
