Nyla When I had woken up, Kyle was already out of bed and was nowhere to be found. Sitting up, I could still feel a dull ache between my thighs. Gingerly removing the sheet from around my body, I got out of bed and picked up my clothes from off the floor before quickly putting them. Walking out the door, I turned the corner and almost collided with something hard. Looking up, I saw it was a smiling Kyle with a tray of food. “I had come to see if you were okay. I’m not going to work today, so we can stay home and do whatever you want to do.” Blushing, I nodded my head before walking back to the bed.

At his side was Stella, pulling down her mask and accepting the iced lemon tea Kenny offered. "Little D—" Kyle cleared his throat; his voice still thick from his previous cries. "Hey!" He called again and flumped down on the seat next to Danise's. "I thought you were going to spend an eternity at your Level 100." He shot him a sidelong glance. "You brought her to Level 100?" Stella asked, almost shrieking when she saw Clover appearing beside him. "Even I've never been there!" "Chillax! It's no big deal. I'll bring you there some other time, okay?" Kyle faked a chuckle and ran a finger over his eye, brushing away the drop he wasn't ready to reveal to his friends. "How many rooms by the way?"

So, I make myself stay there, casually leaning against the bookcase and pretending that his lack of greeting towards me doesn’t affect me. Kyle sits down beside Lea and I focus back on Samuel who has directed a question at Kyle. “Kyle, Lea here tells me that she witnessed a rogue stray too close to the pack border last night. She tells me you were there too. So, I would like you to tell me what you saw so I can decide what best to do now.”

"What's wrong, child?" "My mate is missing!" I screamed, voice trembling. "He was right here when the ground started shaking, but when it went dark, he just… vanished!" She frowned in confusion and said they hadn't seen Kyle at all, even asking if I had made a mistake. Those same puzzled expressions and dreadful answers were exactly like last time. I frantically grabbed my phone, trying to pull up the photos we took earlier. "How could you not have seen him? You were just taking pictures with us a moment ago—"

She spat out, with her arms crossed. "Filter your mouth Steph", delvin warned with a hard tone. "Okay, I will leave" i muttered softly, as I was about leaving delvin held my hand firmly. " Where do you think you are going to Kelsi, come back" He pulled me towards him. "You're not leaving, She met you here, it is either she tell us why she is here or she leave" Stephanie was beyond shock throwing daggers at me with her eyes.

I have food and grab the laptop; everything is still there Sean had used it before he left. I closed the tabs with the scans he booked and, behind them, photos from his mission. My body froze; looking at the pictures, there was a man there I knew, a man I never wanted to see again. He was smiling, looking happy, and had his arm around Sean. Kyle stood there almost like he was laughing at me. Why is Kyle with Sean on a mission?

She climbed back onto the bike behind him, wrapping her arms tighter this time, her cheek against the worn leather as he sped off into the darkness again. — Fifteen minutes later. The back garage in South Edge roared to life with the grumble of engines and the stench of oil. Kyle's boys—leather-clad, cigarette-lipped rebels—stood around a half-lit bonfire out back, talking trash and exchanging war stories like they ran the underworld. When Kyle rolled up, they all turned. “Yo,” grinned Theo, a lanky guy with a busted knuckle and a glint in his eye. “Didn’t think we’d see your ass tonight.”

So why was she screaming like that? She shouted again, then slammed her head lightly against the cold stone behind her. Kyle’s jaw clenched. He was supposed to be working; meetings to attend, pack problems to solve, but here he was, sitting in front of a screen, watching a weak rogue, trying to understand what she was. He remembered the way she looked at him right before he stopped, like she wasn't scared of the beast, just sad for him. He stepped outside and found one of his men standing guard.

If they weren't dead, I'd have killed them myself right then. “Hi Caius.” Kyle greeted and shot the lady a warning glare. The teen, who remembered her name was Amaya ran into Kyle's arms excitedly grinning. “I've missed you Kyle. We never finished our session.” Kuled hugged her back smiling, and ruffled her dark hair, “Missed you too wild fire. Now run along, the adults want to talk.” The girl pouted, crossing her arms, “I'm not kid.” “To us you will always be,” Caius scolded, “Go Maya. We all know that your mother will be coming to gist you soon.”
