He grabbed her and slung her over his shoulder so her head was hanging down towards his mid-back. "Don't try anything, or I'll make you regret it." Krim motioned with his hand and the tiles around them cracked. Bony hands reached from the dirt and a four-man group of skeletons pulled themselves free. "Go, give us a way to get out of here."

"What are you?" Belinda and Martina exchanged a wary glance. "Don't ask questions," the skeleton snapped, its voice rising in anger. "You know about our powers?" The sisters hesitated, sensing the danger emanating from the skeleton. "Don't ask questions," it repeated, its voice dripping with menace. The skeleton's empty sockets seemed to bore into their very souls, and Belinda and Martina felt a shiver run down their spines. "You two must pay before you pass, not in gold but a fragment of your magic," the skeleton declared, its voice cold and unyielding.

I threw the sword, and it went rolling end over end, slicing off the head of the skeleton and shattering it to pieces. I grabbed hold of a skeleton rapier's hand, twisted it backwards, and I could hear the sound of bone cracking. I transformed my hand into a huge boulder and then used it to knock its head off. It went scattered. I swashed aside, then jumped and kicked a skeleton on the chest, and the bone went crashing due to the force. I stretched my hand, and the sword appeared back in my hand. I jumped in the air and planted my two feet on two skeletons' chests, and their bones cracked. Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see the squirrel cat biting one skeleton. It was jumping from one

the third skeleton replied impassively. "Do you see that man? He came here as a teenager, around sixteen, and he's never been able to fulfill any of our desires," the first skeleton whispered to me. "It's likely that the person he came for has moved on. Some sacrifices aren't worth making," the second skeleton added, sighing. "Now, my desire is for you to bring me a child's tears. Just a single teardrop," the first skeleton instructed, an undertone of excitement in its voice.

The more outrageous thing was, the skeletons looked like birds that grew a layer of flesh membrane underneath their armpit areas. ‘God d*mn it!’ Alex was really dumbfounded. ‘What the hell are these?’ At this moment, the white cat on his shoulder suddenly looked up to the sky and wailed, “Meow—!” A ball of red energy came out of the cat’s mouth. That sound burst out like thunder, It was even louder than Luna’s Sky-Devil Zither. The shock had frozen the ten or so flying skeletons. The next second, the white cat sprang up and became ten times bigger in the blink of an eye. Like a fierce tiger, it extended its claws and fiercely swiped at the flying skeletons.
