Forcing me to drop her, she grows into her full size and opens her mouth to shriek at me. Not thinking, I stand there staring for a minute too long till she turns and disappears out the door. I run after her, but by the time I reach the door she is long gone. Like a ghost, she has this way of disappearing into the night.
