“Exactly,” Lena said. “Bancroft wants to start over, and he’s willing to sacrifice millions to do it.”
“We have to stop him,” Damian said, his tone hard.
Lena studied him for a moment, then nodded. “There’s one last piece you’ll need—a fail-safe code. Without it, you’ll never shut Echelon down.”
“Do you have it?” Damian asked.
“No,” Lena replied. “But I know where it is.”
Later that night, Sage stood outside the cabin, staring up at the star-filled sky. The cold air bit at her cheeks, but she barely noticed. Her mind was spinning with everything they’d learned.
