Death's scythe became enshrouded in smoke. [Die!] He yelled, swinging his scythe with such strength that the air itself seemed to rip open. A large chunk of the pursuing force was cut in half by the invisible part of the attack. While those who had avoided it got covered in the black smoke. The demons that survived soon fell to the ground, suffocating. The sight held the enemy back.

"Another soul added to my capsule." As he approached the tiny normal, it slowly turned it's head towards him and stared at him with it's eyes wide open. He was startled. "Can it see me?" He just stood there for a couple of minutes observing the normal that was slumped on the ground. It was still sitting there, eyes wide open. He saw it move it's eyes towards Schnek, who was slowly trudging it's way towards us. He couldn't believe it. No normal could see them, for they are wrapped with incantations from their best wizards.

Long greasy looking hair covered most of its face and only one red colored eye was directed at the both of us as it approached. "I believe that is a corpse seeker, Rai," I mumbled sourly and pulled my sword out and held it in front of me. Rai patted my back and said there were six more surrounding us. The closest one reached out and scratched me on my forearm with its claw and I screamed in agony as the skin partially decayed and fell away. I looked at Rai and told him we were both fucked. The first page I turned to held a chillingly precise ink illustration of a "Silent Scourge." The text described a skeletal horror with unnervingly long, scythe-like claws. Though deaf, it could sense the faintest whisper of mana, possessed blinding speed, and had vision that far surpassed any mortal's.

Chapter 14 A Long Night Scarlett’s POV I return to my suite in the packhouse and promptly fall face-first onto my bed.
