The man hurled a coffee cup straight at Mona. "Enough crap! I want my money now!" In that split second, my father pulled Mona into his arms. The cup and its scalding contents splashed all over his back. Seeing that, I froze where I stood. In my last life, when the cup flew, my father had shoved me forward instead. The boiling tea burned my face, and the shattered glass sliced my cheek, drawing blood. I had stared at my father in disbelief, but he remained calm as he said, "You're tied to this company for life. I remembered the fear on my husband's face when he came home from the dark realm. “And once the seal is made,” the rogue alpha went on, his voice getting louder. “Even if Enzo finds his fated mate, he will be forced to break that bond. She looked down at the seal pattern just below her glowing gold and also at the one above her keeping her in. “You wouldn’t” she whispered. “This seal was used to punish criminals like you. The same seals appeared on her palms and gold light covered Ronnie and she screamed. It erupted out of the hole and into the sky and just like that it was over.

“What triggers it?” I turned the page. “The final activation.” “The moment the seal reaches full restoration.” A pause. “That’s when the bond locks into its final state.” “Or breaks.” Cade leaned back slightly. “She gave you a deadline for a reason.” “One moon isn’t just the seal window.” “It’s the decision window.”
