I knew I should have kept my mouth shut but it was just too much for me to hold in. Before I knew it he was beside me. He grabbed me from the collar of my clothe and held he up. "You keep defying me, why?" He asked. "Look at me when I speak to you." He shouted. I raised my head and looked at him. We are supposed to be mates! I held back my words. Ever since the full moon two years ago, my life has become miserable. Not that it was any better before but I would trade my present life to get the former back.

She had a jagged scar running from her left eyelid to the right side of her face. Her nose was bleeding profusely, and her face was pale. My two pups are still underage and I won’t allow Masuzyo to hurt them to get to me. “Is there something I can find for you?” she asks. “No, thank you, just point me in the right direction.” She does and I go to the records room, going back two years. I think back, trying to remember the exact day. It was late fall. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground. October. I find the right year, then the right month. Before I find the file, I get a mind link from Atticus. ‘Luca, it’s her. The others are telling Alpha Masuzyo now,’ he tells me in the mind link.
