I knew I had to tread carefully, for danger lurked in the darkest corners. As I turned a corner, a faint sound reached my ears—a soft rustling, like the whisper of a shadow. My senses heightened, and I quickened my pace, determined to discover the source. The winding alley led me to an abandoned warehouse, its windows shattered, and its doors creaking ominously in the wind.

I stand up straight with my clothes in my hands. It was only your imagination. I say over and over again in my head. Just then I see something move out of the corner of my eye, when I spin around, I see something move behind the lockers so fast I'm almost convinced I didn't see it. "H-hello?" I call out, "Yeah, hey, I'm just a creepy guy watching you change. By the way, I'm going to kill you." The dark figure says, coming out of the shadows.

7 seconds and immediately after we turn a corner. I wait for my chance and the second after he checks to make sure I'm still behind him I turn around on my heels and begin to walk back the way we came, mentally counting down in my head the seconds till he turns around and notices I'm no longer there. 8...7...6... I duck into an empty cubicle and take a seat at the computer. 4...3...

The attempt would surely waste all the time and energy. “Just here. It’s just here somewhere,” she whispered, trying to assure herself, for she was certain now: Someone unseen was staring at her. She swallowed hard again, turned into a corner, and had almost yelled when she saw two figures in the far corner. Clapping her hands on her mouth, she back out slowly, making sure her steps wouldn’t make a sound. Once she was back at the turning point, she walked out of sight, looked left and right at the deserted hallway. The only good thing about the presence of the two was that the ‘someone’ following her completely vanished; the downside was that she couldn’t enter the elevator if they’re there.

I whispered back, craning my neck to see around the corner. “Just past that door,” she replied, pointing with a trembling hand. I peeked around the corner, and sure enough, there was a guard standing near the door, his back to us. My mind raced, trying to come up with a plan. We couldn’t just wait here indefinitely—the longer we stayed, the higher the risk of getting caught. “Okay,” I said, thinking quickly. “We’re going to move when he turns. We’ll stay low, and we’ll move fast. Just follow my lead.”

You can’t exactly buy werewolf-grade cock rings at Spencer’s, after all. I just stepped out of the shop when something shifts. I freeze. No scent. No movement. Nothing visible. “Stay close.” We moved slower now. Every few feet, something shifted in the corner of my vision. The shapes didn’t hold for long enough to make sense of them, but they felt human. Watching. Waiting. I squinted into the darkness, using every bit of my vision to try and see farther ahead.

But I had no strength left to cry, so I started crawling around the kitchen, searching for a door or hidden exit. No matter how many times I circled the large kitchen, everything seemed sealed. There was no exit except the one I had entered through. Grabbing a kitchen knife and a sharp, large fork as weapons, I cautiously began to make my way out of the kitchen once more. My ears strained to catch any sound, and my eyes darted across every corridor, watching for any movement. Before I could move any further, I caught a glimpse of something—or someone—moving in the corner of my eye. I froze and quickly spun around only to see a small child staring right back at me. My stomach dropped.

_Zephyr’s POV_ Turning around, I slowly walked back into the school’s building. But just before I could make my way through the double doors, I heard a noise from the corner. A whimpering. A frown made its way to my face at the sound. I turned, cocking my head to the side just to get a better view of whoever was whimpering. But I saw nothing. My instincts screamed at me to keep walking. To not bother about whatever was going on beside the school’s building. But I found my legs moving before I could stop them.

Too fast. Then I saw it—the edge of a black van’s door disappearing around a corner. “That’s them,” I said. “Go.” We broke into a sprint, cutting across the gravel. But the moment I rounded the corner, instinct screamed at me to stop. Something glinted on the ground near my boot. A wire. Thin. Taut. Tripwire. “Marcus—!” I barely got the warning out.
