I hid behind a trash can, looking around the corner. He turned and narrowed his eyes in the darkness. After a second, he walked forward. I let him take a few steps, then continued the pursuit. This time, when he stopped, I waited another second before diving for cover. He uttered a muffled oath. He saw something - a moving ray, a flickering shadow, something. Lilac’s P.O.V. Quiet, I warned him with my eyes. The sooner I could get my hands off of him the better. The footsteps grew louder, then halted. Whoever it was, they were far enough away not to hear our heavy breathing. I counted to fifty in my head, then slowly peeked around the corner. Without a hitch, we continued moving. I lost track of how many containers we passed. There were far too many, all different colors with various logo’s printed on the sides. What I did keep track of was how many times I saw that familiar shadow dart by in my peripherals. The Whisperer.

Tiptoeing down the corridor, I constantly looked behind me and brought my ears to attention. It wasn't until I reached a corner that I sensed any sign of anyone. Two deep voices in a whisper and I could just about make up three heartbeats. If I could hear theirs, the chances are they could hear my very fast beating one. I looked around me, trying to find some form of cover. There was the passage I had come out of but that was far away now and surely they'd hear my footsteps. There was a vase but what is this, a cartoon?

I maintained a low profile, blending into the shadows as I approached the front of the cabin. Peering around the corner, my eyes scanned the immediate area, searching for any signs of the assailants. The darkness played tricks on my senses, and it took a moment for my eyes to adjust. The silence was heavy, broken only by the faint rustling of leaves in the wind. Yet, an uncanny intuition told me that danger lurked in close proximity.

I knew I had to tread carefully, for danger lurked in the darkest corners. As I turned a corner, a faint sound reached my ears—a soft rustling, like the whisper of a shadow. My senses heightened, and I quickened my pace, determined to discover the source. The winding alley led me to an abandoned warehouse, its windows shattered, and its doors creaking ominously in the wind.

I stand up straight with my clothes in my hands. It was only your imagination. I say over and over again in my head. Just then I see something move out of the corner of my eye, when I spin around, I see something move behind the lockers so fast I'm almost convinced I didn't see it. "H-hello?" I call out, "Yeah, hey, I'm just a creepy guy watching you change. By the way, I'm going to kill you." The dark figure says, coming out of the shadows.

Leo cocked an eyebrow at me but continued to lead me further. In the corner of my eye, I could see a large slab of concrete that laid in the very center. I walked over towards it immediately, realizing that it was huge. The way it laid, flowers surrounding its edge, could only mean that it was used for events that happened in the backyard.

7 seconds and immediately after we turn a corner. I wait for my chance and the second after he checks to make sure I'm still behind him I turn around on my heels and begin to walk back the way we came, mentally counting down in my head the seconds till he turns around and notices I'm no longer there. 8...7...6... I duck into an empty cubicle and take a seat at the computer. 4...3...

The attempt would surely waste all the time and energy. “Just here. It’s just here somewhere,” she whispered, trying to assure herself, for she was certain now: Someone unseen was staring at her. She swallowed hard again, turned into a corner, and had almost yelled when she saw two figures in the far corner. Clapping her hands on her mouth, she back out slowly, making sure her steps wouldn’t make a sound. Once she was back at the turning point, she walked out of sight, looked left and right at the deserted hallway. The only good thing about the presence of the two was that the ‘someone’ following her completely vanished; the downside was that she couldn’t enter the elevator if they’re there.
