The Taken Of Lena
Lena sighed and reluctantly opened the box again, and she was breathless when she observed the necklace it contained.
A large, softly squared bright yellow diamond sat at the base of a double strand of colorless, smaller square diamonds. Even in the darkness of the room, the necklace was scintillating. Lena thought for certain that if she looked at it in daylight, she would be blinded. The center stone reminded Lena of the sun.
"You agreed to allow me to buy beautiful things for you," Renz reminded eventually. Lena exhaled sharply, finally realizing that she'd been holding her breath as she stared at the necklace.
