Quinn argued without changing their blank facial expression at all. "You were slightly lifting the left corner of your mouth and that is a grimace instead of a genuine smile," Ian corrected while throwing his hands up in defeat. "It is my natural resting face and I am not going to fake a massive grin just so you can get an A in your photography class," Quinn stated calmly while setting their teacup down onto the saucer. "This is why I hate working with my friends because you guys never take my artistic vision seriously," Ian sulked while adjusting the heavy strap around his neck.

She looked like someone who had stared death in the face more than once. “Rhea.” Lilian said, standing, “This is Grace.” I nodded slowly, walking forward, unable to take my eyes off her. Grace didn’t look up immediately. Her hands were trembling, so faintly that you might miss it if you weren’t staring. I took a seat across from her, my heart heavier than I expected. “I… didn’t think you’d look like this.” I whispered. Grace let out a breathless laugh. It was hollow, like the last breath before giving up, “What did you think I would look like?”
