Envy. Spiders that formed from the darkest corners of the mind crawled into cool fingertips, to skitter beneath the tightly drawn flesh, rough and scarred from a world too cruel. A gleam danced in a pair of eyes that had become shaded with repressed emotions, dangerous and boiling. A kettle on the stove, steam rising to curl against the ceiling above, drowning the body in waves of angry heat.

If there is another life, I wish I could be born into an ordinary family, and that I could meet you again with a clean slate. I stood there for a long time after finishing the letter. Then, I walked to the window and watched the snow drift down outside. There was no anger, no grief, not even a ripple of emotion. Only an immense, boundless emptiness. So this was the truth. What had fueled all that evil was not some twisted love, but another warped and pitiful soul. I tossed the letter and the brown envelope into the fireplace together. Orange flames swallowed the words in seconds, turning them into ash.

"She's just putting on an act. If it weren't for her, you wouldn't be having these cramps." I watched them leave and closed my eyes in despair. In Jared's eyes, all my pain was fake, while every tear Melody shed was genuine. The system's voice came again. "One day left until you leave this world. Before you leave, the system will grant you one wish." My voice was weak, but steady. "System, I want Jared to know the whole truth." I wanted to see his reaction when he finally learned everything. The system's voice was mechanical and emotionless. "Acknowledged. Truth Revelation Program initiated."

Then Helen and Richard left, saying that they would come to see me tomorrow. Jeffrey stood outside the door, hesitant to leave. "Audrey, we can never be together again, right?" Hearing this, Kash wanted to go up and hit him, but I stopped Kash. "Yes. "I’ve been unhappy for the past seven years. Jeffrey, how many seven years are there in one’s life?"

But he simply shrugged and added, "This is an opportunity to find out the reality. I am not in the best position to speak for you yet I could be the person who will stand by your side in whatever circumstance you're getting into." I'm very emotional right now. What Seven said made me abruptly despondent. My husband is acting rudely, therefore that's what that means. He's deceiving me so much, in fact. Because he knows I'll learn more than simply the obvious, Seven is only trying to uplift me. I'm not sure if I can endure the truth being revealed. God is aware of my desire to learn the truth and find relief from my suffering. But I'm afraid. I want to withdraw because I am so afraid.

Only truth. finally becoming undeniable.

The crown marks burned. Then a third mark appeared beside the others. Three crowns. Three fragments. Three powers. Then knowledge flooded his mind. The First Crown granted Authority. The Second Crown granted Sight. The Third Crown granted Truth. Then suddenly— Thomas could see everything. Not physically. Deeper than that. He saw lies. Hidden emotions. Falsehoods. Secrets. The truth beneath reality. Then he looked toward the World Tree. And froze. Because the tree was dying. Immediately. Then: "What?"

I need as much out of him as I can possibly get. “You see, you’re one of us,” he tells me. My eyes widen. “Perhaps not on the same tier of immortality as Fate, or me, for example. But you are part of the Seven Virtues.” Not many people know of the Seven Sins or the Seven Virtues. They keep to themselves, but their existence is the reason why mortals are the way they are. There names are something I’m not familiar with, which I am grateful for. The Sins, at least, are the most frightful of the few. The Virtues, I don’t mind so much.
