Shadow In The Ember Series Novels & Stories

The air cleared. And Ember wept all over again, but this time, not from rage. From release. Thirty Minutes Later, Inside the Wreckage Seryna and Rhian stood in the broken church nearby, watching Cassia tend to Ember. Neither spoke for a long time. “She looks just like her,” Seryna murmured. “Only sharper,” Rhian replied. “Like a sword version of Cassia.” They both turned as Ember rose slowly, a blanket draped around her shoulders, her steps unsure. Cassia walked beside her like a guide leading a ghost through the land of the living.

His denim jeans pulling tight across his perfectly sculpted arse and legs. Marcus squeals in delight as Lucas scoops him up into the air and tickles him mercilessly. I watch them as a sense of peace washes through me. Remembering my time in the underworld. I had gone by so many titles since coming of age. Hunter, Princess, Wife, Twice Blessed, Cursed, Queen, but the greatest title that I will ever have the privilege to be given, is, and will forever more be, Mother. The End *** Foreword: Hi Guys, I would like to thank each and every one of you for having got this far. I really hope that you have enjoyed Shadowed Creatures.

Ember then took a knife from a nearby table and plunged it right into Emma's heart, killing her. "That's for fucking my mate, bitch", she growled out as Emma died. I watched Ember with surprise as she stood up and looked around. "The next person I find out fucking touches him inappropriately will meet the same fucking fate as this bitch, got it", she said loudly, meeting every eye surrounding us. Her eyes had turned bright blue. The same bright blue from last night. I could hear yeses from shocked club members or yes Luna from pack members all around. How the fuck did she even get here, and did she just claim me in my own domain? Why was I turned on by this? She looked at me in annoyance, an

Corbin stepped up to us and said, “He’s the spirit elemental. He is capable of so much more than we think. I wonder if you could possibly do that too at some point.” Ember and I stood there and talked with each leader one at a time as they congratulated her on her victory today, then said farewell. Each group left through a portal to go home until the last two groups were the Mirror River Coven and the Scarlet Moon Pack. Talon and Rook both hugged Ember tightly before shaking my hand. We agreed that we would come visit them soon so Ember could see everyone. A little family gathering under normal circumstances would be good for all of them. Both groups soon left and now it was just Ember, Bas

she asked. "Not this lifetime or next," I said firmly. "You’re mine. Look at me, say it, Emily. Say you’re mine." "Yours," she whispered. Then she lifted her head. "And Shadow can come." I laughed, finally like I never had in a while. "Of course. Is he your familiar?" I asked. Shadow, the sleek silver snake who seemed always to appear when Emily needed him most, was more than just a pet—he was her magical familiar, a spirit creature bound to her. He protected her, sensing her emotions and keeping her company through everything.

The gravel crunches beneath the tires of the Rav four like breaking glass, a sound that causes Melody Blackthorne’s heart to hammer against her ribs. She cuts the engine, but her fingers remain glued, curled tight around the steering wheel until her knuckles turn the color of the white waves crashing ahead of her. For close to two thousand miles, she had checked her rearview mirror every sixty seconds, waiting for the sleek, silver glint of Blaze’s Mercedes to appear like a shark in the wake. She’s thirty-nine years old, and currently a fugitive from her own life, hiding on the sandy outskirts of Emerald Isle, North Carolina.

“She told me that I would want to give up. That others would try to dim the light in me. That I’d be called names. ‘Shadow. Curse. Ghost.’ She said all of that. As if she knew.” Ryker didn’t move, barely breathed. Trixie lifted her eyes. “But she said, ‘You are not a shadow. You are not my ghost. You are my dawn. My blood. The fire they’ll never tame.’” Her lips trembled. “And then she kissed my forehead. She bled on my ribbon. And she whispered, ‘Wait for the light. Be the light, if it never comes.’” Tears slid down her cheeks. “And then she was gone.”

***** Author's Note: Next chapter will be the last one. I've been working on a book called "Love Amongst the Shadows" it's in the same universe as these stories and eventually those characters will meet with these. You should be able to find it in the app in the next couple of weeks. I will be working on a book for Eric and Lucy after I finish that one. Apparently, and from the pieces of conversation they shared, they knew each other, although at arms length. She was a maid named Ember, and that was all I knew. I had no idea how they'd started talking, they weren't friends, but their relationship was a unique one, in a completely platonic way, that is. “What do you think happened now?” I muttered to myself. “I hadn't seen him since I chained him up. I always said I was going to go back to check on him….” “He would have killed you if you went.” Cain’s voice reached my ears. Up until this moment, I didn't even know I'd said it out loud and that he'd heard me. “And as for what happened, it's very simple. The shadow struck again.”

Ember was startled when she felt the tingles run along her spine; she had been so invested in their conversation that she hadn’t even heard Ash approach her. “Are you having difficulty shifting back?” He asked with concern. “Should I call Dr. Victor?” Ember shook her head emphatically. He watched her intently for a moment. “Is it because you’re outside?” Ember sighed. It was because she was outside. She couldn’t be naked outside in the woods! Anyone could see her! She was not about to become some kind of naturalist wolf shifter; she needed privacy. “Come on, there’s an unused shed over here where you can shift and put on the shirt. I don’t like the fact that you’ll smell like Leo, but it wil
