Those things come with some heavy consequences, and I wasn't about to sign up for that without a second thought.   The problem was, if I didn't go along with his messed-up plan, he promised to make my friends' lives a living hell—the very people I'd started to care about. I was trapped between a rock and a hard place. If I decided to team up with Vivaldi, I'd be keeping him around, which is far from ideal. But if I refused, my friends and the whole town of Shadowvale would be in serious danger.    It felt like I was caught in this impossible situation, like I was trying to choose between two rotten apples.

He said gruffly, his mouth still puckering on my lower lip. He moved it up and down in a yoyo manner, and I instinctively moved my right palm to his chest. I felt it hairy underneath my palm and I tugged on it gently. I suddenly felt him shaking and I couldn't help but smile at the fact that the powerful alpha could shake for a lady. I moved from him, trying to catch my breath and then I realized that I was the person shivering.

The story can be seen to be a bit horror based if you are to talk about the genre but still you will find a lot of comical reliefs once you give the story a try
