The plan worked, and in a gritty rooftop showdown, Alex finally came face-to-face with their relentless pursuer. The Shadow emerged from the darkness, their features hidden beneath a mask, their eyes burning with a deadly determination. "You have meddled in affairs that do not concern you," they hissed, their voice carrying an air of cold malice. "Prepare to meet your end." The battle that ensued was a dance of death, each move calculated and precise. Alex's martial prowess clashed with The Shadow's deadly agility, creating a lethal ballet of combat. The tension hung heavy in the air as blades clashed, and fists connected with bone-crushing force.

Rebel and Ryder yelled and pounced on Shadow shifting into their wolf form and started nipping at him. “Hey, hey!” Shadow yelped as Ryder nipped his thigh just missing his most sensitive areas. “Those aren’t balls you play with.” He shrieked covering his crotch. Jen tried not to laugh but she couldn’t hold back. “Thanks for the help love.” He grumbled. “My pleasure. Imma here to help anytime.” She snickered. “Ryder, Rebel get off of Shadow.” Storm laughed. “Off now.” She snapped her fingers at them. They playfully growled at Shadow and ran to their mom’s feet. “Okay you three shift back, fingers and feet please.” She ordered.

It was all overwhelming. A month elapsed, and I witnessed Jack struggling against the bond. He never made the move to get her from the Shadow pack. Alpha Henry dispatched numerous messengers without success. I understood he was trying to demonstrate something to me, and I was grateful for his efforts. We were intimate a few times, but it felt different. His heart and wolf weren't fully engaged, making it seem like sympathy sex. I had never felt so down in my life until this point. He extended his hours at the office and decreased his time spent working from home. I recognized that he wasn't as drawn to me as he once was.

But when I open them again and look towards where he is, I still see black leather wings and crimson eyes. His fighting is even more impressive than what I’ve seen in Sahara’s gladiator ring. When the shadow aims some kind of power, he flies back, flips, and lunges at what I assume is its head. He flaps his wings, pushing the shadow back and aims his sword over it, cutting through it. He twirls again and piercing the center of the shadow over and over again until the shadow fractures and shatters into a million pieces. As soon as that happens, the fog fades, and the dark monster disappears, leaving the shadows of the true darkness behind.

The darkness loomed around them like a cloak. Sekhmet carried an old-fashioned torch he pulled from a hole in the wall to light the way. It was a bit theatric and unnecessary, considering vampires and werewolves alike could see in the dark. But it set the mood for torture nicely; causing shadows to dance across the walls. A bleeding.
