I smile evilly as she sees the claws, and I feel shadow look at her through my eyes. “Goodbye, Amy, may hell torture you,” I say, and even in my voice I hear Shadow.

I plead, and she looks into my eyes, searching for any hesitation, but when she doesn’t, she drops my hands and moves away. “Fine, I’ll tell you.” My excitement is swiftly wiped away by her next words. “The shadow god is an abomination. He was never supposed to be born. He’s the product of an unholy ritual, an anomaly.”

“It’s just a short visit. I’ll be back in two days. No need for a caravan.” He hesitated, but I leaned forward, brushing my lips to his cheek. “I’ll be fine, my love.” And just like that, I left. But not for Dawnmist. I arrived under the cover of night at Moonshadow Pack, my hood pulled low as I made my way to the abandoned quarters near the edge of the territory where Amy waited.
