Matthias shouted to his parents, "Send Katana to my chambers now. Emma is in danger!" Matthias faded and entered their room to find Emma fading fast as a shadow sat upon her with a pillow held upon her head, suffocating her. He knew her heartrate was falling fast, and she was not long for this world. Charging at the shadow, he passed right through and fell upon the floor next to Emma. He was shocked at the power of the shadow and yet he couldn't attack it via normal means, he managed to pull the pillow away from her face and heard her breathing hitch, as she managed to take in the air to sustain her lungs.

She saw the shift again. “Do you see something?” Ichiro asked. “There,” she pointed at the spot she was watching. “I thought I saw—” Her eyes widened when a shape broke away from the darkest section of the cloud. More followed. “Shadows. It’s starting.”

Just then, Emiliano came to sit beside me. “You okay?” he asked. I nodded. My mind was still with the shadow. “Here, have this,” he handed me a burger and soft drink to me. I put Phoenix down beside me. We soon reached home. As we entered the house, my mind still lingered on the earlier shadow. Was someone out to get me? Why am I even scared? People have shadows. But what bugged me most was the attention Phoenix gave to the particular shadow. “Are you sure you are fine, Ginevra?” Emiliano asked as I headed toward the staircase without a word. I turned back to him.

I weakly teased. She huffed, exasperated, but her fingers shook where they rested against my wrist. Emilio turned sharply down a narrow road, barely lit except by the car's headlights cutting through the darkness. I drag myself closer to the window, grab hold of the frame, and pull myself into the window leaning on it. I look in the window, I stare eyes wide through the blood-stained glass. I can see Brittany sitting in the corner of a room across from the room, I'm in. The window in the room is adjacent to another room next to me. I try to open the window but it's stuck, the window won't budge. I start shouting for her and banging on the window. I can see Brittany walk stand up and walk over to the window and stare into it. It's as if she is starting right past me
